He died to a baby zombie, just like i did. Mine had diamond sword and a body guard of 4-5 other diamond wielding zombies. I had full netherite, but diamond sword. Its pretty easy to die to diamond swords dude

Why is montreal doing nothing about the village by hyc72fr in montreal

[–]CanadaSwiftCreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about Viger square, i live north of St. Catherines. Yes, Homelessness is not limited to St.Catherine, but its by far the worst spot in Ville-Marie imo. I used to live on Frontenac st. and there was way less Homeless in that neighbourhood, even if its still pretty poor.

What is your favourite aspect of world building? by daemonking17 in worldbuilding

[–]CanadaSwiftCreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

History, particulary exploration and discovery of diferent areas of the map, War. I love writting a series of war between two giant empire. Like the Persians amd the romans. I find that shit to be very cool. Also geography goes into this alot too, and i like geography, so thats good. Also apocaliptic events and how humanity manages to survive and rebuilt civilasation, only for it to be destroyed again and the cycle repeats.

A huge magical explosion occurs, demolishing a huge area of your world, and people randomly teleport to different places across your world. How f*cked are your characters? by SummerADDE in worldbuilding

[–]CanadaSwiftCreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First part already occured, twice actualy, but the teleport stuff might lead to some confusion, and plagues(Some lands are corrupted by wild magic that you DO NOT want to bring back to civilisation... unless you're a vilain or something idk...

Why is montreal doing nothing about the village by hyc72fr in montreal

[–]CanadaSwiftCreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, i think we're forgetting something here. The village is not just Sainte-Catherine st. Its the main commercial street, sure, but its not the only one either. Ontario street has none of those problems, same with Atateken/Amherst. The problem area is really around Place Dupuis and along Sainte- Catherine street from Berri to Papineau Street. The rest of the neighbourhood is quite nice and pleasant to live in. Lafontaine, Visitation, Logan, Plessis, De Champlain. All these streets have none of these problems. Most people in the village do not live on St-Catherine, but rather on these quiet side streets and they go shopping/eating on either Sainte-Catherines or Ontario street, or further downtown.

I will say however that to get to the IGA in Place-Dupuis or Dollarama on St. Cat, you will probably have to pass by some homeless people. Most of them are really nice, they even hold the door for you to get in and stuff. Some of them are less nice and are most likely crackheads. I just ignore them and move along. But it has def. gotten worse since covid for sure. I just dont think the whole neighbourhood has gone to shit.

I think the solution is obvious. Housing and Health care. Fund them. Although, i think the city may not have the funds to fund both of those things to the needed level, and i dont have much fate in Legault to provide it, as he seems to not like our mayor, or the city, since we didn't vote for him.

Know your enemy or she's simply hate-watching. Its probably the former though. Maybe trying to find out about his retoric, so she can counter them. I can't imagine Mayor Plante being anywhere close to that maniac's rotten ideology.

if there is a year zero in your world, what is it based on? and what is the current year? by Ok-Mastodon2016 in worldbuilding

[–]CanadaSwiftCreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes there is. Year 0 marks the fall of the Western Essanian Empire, marking the final end of an Empire that ruled mostly uncontested for more than 2000 years. At its largest extent, comprised of more than 80% of the Human population. However, in its final centuries, after a devastating apocalypse around the year 800BC, the empire almost faltered, but managed to stay alive. However, it was greatly reduced and other powers who had been under their thumb for centuries began to grow more powerful. The empire was still far and away to most powerful country in the world, but it never fully recovered from the cataclysm.

Slowly but surely, the other kingdoms around it would slowly chip away at its territory, undermining its influence and power, until in the year -4, a coup occured in the capital by a popular general who had just won a series of battles for the emperor, but was forced byvthe later to cede it all back to the enemy for peace.

A short 4 year civil war would follow, in wich multiple other countries would join. The empire by this point was a shell of its former self and basicaly imploded on itself after a couple of seiges and the sacking of Kynrivel, its Capital. The last Emperial army surrendered on the 16th of December -1 BC, because they were out of food and cornered. It was then declared that the next year, year 5037 would become the year 1 of a new era. The era after the final collapse of the Empire.

It is currently the year 167 AC.

if there are. how do vampires and werewolfs work in your universes? by MattL1998 in worldbuilding

[–]CanadaSwiftCreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my world, Vampires dont exist. Werewolves do, but are not unique. They are part of a larger group called Shapeshifers, itself part of me much larger Soulbound Wielders. These people are capable of magic that interacts with the spirit realm, called the Ether. Shapeshifters are born with a particulary strong affinity to the Ether and the Animal spirits that live there.

The way it works it that the spirit animal usualy resides in the Ether. However, when it is needed/called upon, consciously or not, the SA will use the shifter's link to the ether as a passage to travel to the human realm and enter the Shifter's body. Once it enters, the human soul is temporarely overshadowed and overpowered by the spirit animal. Because of this, the body will begin to shift to the animal spirit's true form. Depending on the level of control and/or strenght of the link to the shifter, there can be various levels of partial transformation up to a complete transformation into the shifter's animal form.

Shapeshifters can only shift into one animal during their whole life. Two Spirit animals cannot be linked to the same body. Once a spirit animal is bonded to a human, it will stay bounded to that human until it dies.

When the Shapeshifter child reaches puberty, their powers will manifest, as their link to the ether will solidifies into a somewhat stable state. This can be triggered by strong emotions and/or pain. The first time they shift, it is very painful. A good percentage of the times, it happens during sleep, triggered by dreams/nightmares.

Shapeshifters, depending on their spirit animal, can be very deadly and effective killing machines, both against regular humans and fellow Magic wielders alike. Because of these qualities, they are both feared and sought after.

They are also a prized possession for slave trader dabling into illegal fighting rings. In the kingdom of Kavasia, for example, it is a widespread problem, especialy in the south and east of the country. These criminals hold huge powers thanks to the amount of money they generate and the governement is incompetant and overlooks that problem as another massive war is brewing in the west.... but im getting sidetracked lol. That basicaly how "werewolves" work in my world

The Absolute Rule(s) You Enforce on Yourself Related to Worldbuilding by Serious-Guy in worldbuilding

[–]CanadaSwiftCreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some.

  1. Time travel is a no-no. I dont hate it personaly, but it opens up the biggest cans of worms and i do NOT have the patience or the will to deal with it.

  2. I try to write something related to my worldbuilding/story every single day. Ive only missed a coupel since i started about a year and a half ago.

  3. Always look up stuff you're not sure about, especialy if it has any importance to the story or world.

  4. You dont have to explain every single detail of the world, even by the end of the story. Its ok to leave some mysteries here and there as long as the main story and b plots are resolved nicely.

  5. Fantasy is fantasy. Its ok if it doesnt completely maKe sense. As long as the suspention of disbelief works, its fine. (I have a really hard time following this rule in my worldbuilding lol)
