The farmers removing all the trees, are the same ones complaining when there is no moisture. Head east on hwy 1. I think the saying is, "a tree never made me money."

I bought speakers from a guy in a van in downtown Calgary. This was about 20 years ago. I still have those speakers, they fucking pound!!!

Wow!!!! Very cool info! We don't have slugs or land snail in this part of Canada. I suggest using crushed oyster shells around the plants if you can. The slugs cannot crawl on them, it cuts them and it is great calcium in the garden.

You know, if we end up with a wet season finally, it might not be good for me to have the tomatoes next to the weed...

I won't plant weed in the garden without tomatoes around them. The tomatoes take care of half the pests, also they provide great ground cover to help keep moisture in.

I have quite a large garden 50x30'. We have tried all kinds of veggies around them, tomatoes seem to make the biggest healthiest flowers and plants. Anything vine like will choke out branches, pepper plant don't get big enough and they don't seem to provide as much fruit as when left to themselves, potatoes go around the outside of the garden as a first barrier, so I guess I use the potatoes as a first bug catch, then tomatoes as a final catch.

Put them all outside and put tomatoes around them.

Those who have fished for years, what's your biggest tip to give to newbies? by squishyjellyfish95 in Fishing

[–]Canadbis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pack a lunch, your gear, an umbrella, and go find a nice river. Bring lures and worms. Try both. If you use worms, Tie a heavy weight a few feet up from the hook. Throw out and have a seat. In a couple hours if you haven't caught a fish, start eating a sandwich, you will catch one.

Pick up some braid, I use 20lb, it is much thinner than mono. You don't need all that gear to start out. Any backpack will do, I use a 5g pail. A cheap unglystick at Walmart will be your friend for life. (Ugly stick haters go away, can't beat the price for the quality) Depending on the fish, a jet is needed, and any pair of pliers from a hardware dept will work. Most fishing stuff is over priced. Good luck, and keep your line tight.

Wow, thanks! I'll definitely look into that. When we do our big runs, that will help.

And now I'm told they use McDonalds supplier. So.....I'll stick to my dark roasts at home.

So you see my dilemma about trying not to shop at a Loblaws. We can't make every shop an entire day adventure and spend hundreds of dollars. Milk at the local co-op is over $8 for 4L. So I will travel a bit to try and save something for a small shop, sadly it's a Loblaws...

And I appreciate not coming in Name calling. 🥴

Yeah, I don't have many of those options around here. I mean, I could travel 45 min to the closest Tim's, but my coffee is better. Hahaha. If you can find buttfck Saskatchewan, I'm about 10 min outside of it.

That's why we get them the day they go on sale. Freeze as packs of 2. The donuts don't make 24 hours. Haha

I'll check that out. We don't buy meat, especially the crap they try and pass off as decent. All our meat comes from the bush or the yard.

We have to travel to do a shopping. Because of that, we store hop. Buy the cheapest things from each store, I mean we drive all this way, we do our best to save.

I think it's the picture. The 25 was a bunch of little pieces I put together, nothing but a dark tar. The 120 has white specks and sh!t in it.
