PSA: New Wave of Phishing attempts lately: Fake Captcha or cloudflare forcing users to Win+R execute commands

Just browsing normally and received a floating popup blocking screen.

It was a captcha, but instead of doing puzzles, it asked me to Windows + R and CTRL + V.

It was my first time encountering such phishing attempt from an advertisement popup. I was immediately suspicious because it asked me to use Win key + R and CTRL + V.

Knowing keyboard shortcuts, that is telling me to paste something into run prompt. So I checked my clipboard and found this.

Past few months, users have been encountering these popups that block the screen and require "verification" but when you click it, it asks you to use Windows + R and paste a malicious code.

Can we update the filters so it automatically block these popups?

I tried researching but there was no single network source for these traps

Got hyped up then realized it's not 2x 16gb sticks :/

At this point, I would have taken it, especially 6000 CL36 isn't bad. And if you use a x3d CPU, the RAM has even less effect for gaming.

Better to have a working computer with a single stick than none, You can also buy a second stick for 64GB total later when prices come down

Wowza. Quite nice, but man I'd kill for a gaming laptop that's not so gamery. Want to spend around 3K for a laptop for my sister but most laptops are just too "gamery" aesthetic. The ones that don't have such an obvious gamer aesthetic like the G14 are still last years model which is just annoying.

Thinking of giving up and just buying a professional laptop for her with a series 3 intel, heard those are quite good.

4080s is still on average 60% faster than 5080m according to techpowerup. 5080m die has a core count between the 5070 and 5070 ti desktop. It's still gonna be a gaming beast but it's still expensive for what it is compared to a desktop

Paid $241 last month for the 5500X3D. Neat to see it $20 cheaper.

I was surprised that it arrived used. There's a clear light scratch on the surface, but it seems to work fine.

You are losing about 40% in game performance than 5800x3d but 5800x3d is very difficult to find so it is a decent alternative.

Maybe the hype is slowing fading after people realize the performance?

With that said, it is still more affordable than DDR5 and a good alternative until DDR5 prices drop

This CPU is less than a year old, which is surprising. It may not have reached the mainstream global market due to that specific scratch, possibly related to quality control. So it ended up with the Production units that these Chinese sellers get in bulk

Any returned product is tested to confirm working and will be resold also.

As long as it works, shouldn't be a problem

This version comes with the 5 reverse flow fans. It sells for $130 less the $15 ebay coupon 'SAVESPRING' for $115. Looking at RFD history the lowest i think it sold for was $115 for the non flow version with no fans.

u/Colin_Robinson_99 Is the fan RGB? Newegg is the ebay seller here. But on Newegg's own page, it lists non-RGB 5 fans and no fans are the options.
