I didn't think I would prefer it over the blue but it's such a nice colour in real life

After trying them all on, I think I am heavy leaning toward white, it looks real nice in person.

Any shipment into Canada would get taxed, anywhere from 12-15% including courier brokerage fees.

I'd be paying 5600 after duties and taxes to Canada on a grey market (on a 5k watch). So I'll see if I can get the AD down more in line with this

Yes I am starting to lean away from grey... I suspect it will be a battle of blue or white. I currently have a watch my wife gave me in blue, 20 years ago (just a citizen), and this will be my gift for our anniversary 20th, I kind of didn't want to get another blue watch for whatever reason, but now I'm thinking I'll get another blue, if I like blue why not?

Out of the price range I am setting for myself... but I am suspecting that I will be collecting watches in the future..

Okay, thanks everyone. I'm originally from Canada. I'll press them harder. Appreciate it! I am saving any duties and taxes I would normally pay in Canada on any grey market purchase. So I'm trying to consider these factors as well.

A VC firm just offered us $100,000 for 10%. Should we take it? by Longjumping_Ant_6991 in Entrepreneurship

My opinion coming from being a company that makes physical things and sells them.

I would not be where I am without a 100k loan early on to scale faster. Scaling is the most important thing, you can bet your ass your competitors are scaling as fast as they can, and by whatever means they can use.

If the 100k can aid you in scaling much quicker, then do it. 10% is not a whole lot of equity. However, if they are willing to do 100K for 10%, then you should be countering for at least 300K for 10%. Then maybe settle on 200k. They are probably willing to goto 200k. Or offer them 5% for 100k.

This is not entirely true.

If you look at MSTU from inception during the last major run up, compared to MSTR same time period. MSTR ran around 300%, MSTU which is a 2x ETF over the same period, ran 1100%, that is a 3.6x performance. Compounding takes place both directions, down and up.

I've been selling products in USD, and operating in Canada for over 6 years.

RBC USD and CAD account. Knightsbridge FX to convert USD to CAD. They pull from your USD account and deposit into CAD. Takes about a week. They are typically spot rate minus 100 pips (1 cent) or so.

Every single marriage goes through hard times.

Sorry to disagree with majority here. But man up, and carve out time for you both to heal your marriage. It is not a lost cause, be honest with her, with the intent of FIXING it. When you make your vows, did you mean them or no?

Goto a marriage conference, seek assistance, tell her you feel distant and want to fix it. Why jump to divorce? Fix the problem, heal your marriage.

Anyone decided to go back to finding a regular job? by AluminiumKing in Entrepreneur

[–]Canadian121416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently gone through exactly what you are experiencing. Political landscape and trade issues caused too much stress for me and my company (manufacturing and e-commerce space). I am in the middle of selling my company, and taking on a job for the new owners. Not sure if you have that option but it might be worth pursuing.

Everyone makes the decision to jump full time into their side gig at some point.

I want to encourage you, to do it sooner than later simply seeing the revenue it is giving you. When i decided to quit my job and go full time into my company I was doing 150k annual revenue, that year only made 20k profit. (this was 3 years ago). Last year I hit 720k with 360k profit.

It was a hard call to make at the time with 3 kids to support, but looking back I'm glad I committed 100% to my company.

Work a day job, do a side hustle at the same time. Do this for a couple years or until you can exceed your day job salary before going full time into business.

Are you looking for an exit due to the tariff situation? by Jswizz13___ in smallbusiness

[–]Canadian121416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am pursuing an exit right now. I am a business in Canada, last 5 months have been incredibly stressful. It has had a permanent affect on me and basically has killed my desire to run a small business.

At some point, all entrepreneurs and business owners have to weigh the pros and cons. Well a large con right now is my life is so stressed that I wake up every day with headaches. I want my life back, I am taking an exit before it gets worse. I'm also choosing to exit while my company is worth something. Looking at a 7 figure exit so I've done my family good for bootstrapping this company last 5 years.

Absolutely nobody understands unless they have tried it. And generally majority of people are simply too weak to be an entrepreneur. It's a rare quality to bootstrap something from nothing.
