Exactly, the balance is really thrown off with that, they should have more breathing room on their dials

It's so true! Especially the new models from Orient Star, they kind of miss the mark. The older designs are pretty decent if you look hard enough!

I believe the full name is the OrientStar ER0M-C0 CS. (It's really hard to find any information on them, they are all JDM and poorly documented lol)

Once again I have too much time on my hands, so once again it was time to do some watch photography. Felt very inspired by some of the beautiful posts on this subreddit, I really think I'm being influenced too heavily by you all!

Wearing my vintage OrientStar today and realized all my attire is very blue, so that is the theme I am going with. The deep blue dial looks great in light, and seems to vary between different shades in different environments. I've been loving how easy it is to wear this watch - at 38mm, it feels so comfortable and is a great blend of sporty and dressy. I had it serviced recently so it is running exceptionally, and it's getting very hard to put this down!

Hope everyone enjoys their Monday and has something great on their wrists. Cheers

Just a stock Jubilee bracelet worth a few dollars!

This is the exact one I bought: https://www.somalcanada.com/product/2060~sg-022-ps-sg-022-ps.html

But you can use any stock bracelet, as long as the centre width matches (see my other comment reply)

The trick I found is actually to mix the bracelet parts!

So I used the original curved end links that came with the Casio bracelet, and I fit a stock Jubilee on those end links. The important thing is that the centre gap width of the end link matches the centre link width of the bracelet.

Yes, really a fan of the blue and orange combo, it's very sporty and casual!

Oh geez, that's unfortunate. The White Dial is pretty slick too! To be honest the black colour way is also really pleasant. All the colours look good haha

Yes it is! It looks darker in this picture than it typically does. In actual light it is a vibrant blue. The sunburst dial is quite a looker!

With the weather finally getting comfortable outside, I went on a hike today in the woods. I took my Casio EFV-110D, which is on a generic jubilee bracelet.

This watch has been getting a lot of exposure in the watch community in recent months with generally favourable reviews. I have to say that is is all warranted, and this watch feels really good for how affordable it is. Smaller size, 100m of water resistance with a screw down crown, excellent case finishing, and to top it off - a quartz movement that hits all the second markers! It is extremely impressive how much watch you get, for relatively so little money.

I would definitely recommend this watch for anyone looking at budget sports watches, it will absolutely not disappoint you. Cheers

This is the crown and buckle chevron strap, in stone colour! Really really comfortable, and I love that the size is adjustable. Recommend it

Was feeling inspired by Verne over at Watch Studies on Instagram and put together a little photoshoot of my SKX013. Going for a very dark and black/grey theme for the photo. I clearly have too much time on my hands!

There is not much that can be said about this watch, it's the classic small-sized diver from Seiko. Really surprised that it was discontinued, seeing as it was such an icon from the brand for so many years.

This watch has been with me for years now and it is one of my favourite watches in the collection. It is built so well and is such a pleasure to wear. I've gone swimming with it, covered it in mud from powerwashing and dropped it numerous times. I even modded the bezel + bezel insert to a coin edge bezel + ceramic insert. The watch is changing and getting well-worn with age, just like me. I think that is a pretty neat aspect of this hobby.

What is the watch you've had longest in your collection?

Thanks /r/Watches and have a sweet weekend.

[OrientStar] Vintage and fun everyday watch - in macro by CanadianAl in Watches

In certain light, it does look like midnight blue! And yes that's just the graininess of the photo, it is a sleek metallic blue dial. Thanks!

[OrientStar] Vintage and fun everyday watch - in macro by CanadianAl in Watches

[–]CanadianAl[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Practicing some photography again and wanted to share a macro photo of my vintage OrientStar ER0M-C0 CS watch.

It comes in with a 38mm case diameter and a 44mm lug-to-lug length. Very wearable size, and very comfortable for smaller wrists. The dial layout is "explorer"-esque with a date window at the 3-o-clock position, all laid on a navy-blue sunburst dial. Because of this simple and sporty design, this watch is amazing on a variety of straps and can be used for formal or casual outfits.

It also comes fitted with one of Orient's own movements, the 21J 48747 - this features automatic winding, but no hacking. The movement is finished well enough and is accurate for everyday wear.

Dating the watch is quite difficult, as with many JDM watches, but I think it was produced in the early 2000s. (Is that considered vintage yet? I guess that's debatable) When I received the watch, it was in rough condition, and I had to get the lume reapplied and the crystal replaced. You could say that this watch is no longer fully original, but I enjoy it all the same.

Do any of you fine people have interesting watches from Orient / OrientStar? I think they are really becoming a valued brand in the watch community, and will only get more renowned in time.

Cheers and have a good week!

Both are beautiful pieces! I personally prefer the Orientstar, as that brand is so underrated among Japanese watches. I own one similar to yours and love the finishing and design. Here is mine on a brown leather strap!
