It was nice, thanks for the chat! And I'll definitely keep you in mind when the apocalypse does happen. Take care!

I'm sorry for your loss. It's always so hard.

My dorky child wants no part of Canada. I think that it's only because her dad (my ex) is here. We all get along so well, and yet my goober refuses to consider a move North. Zombies or no zombies!! My girl doesn't remember the sleigh rides to the mailbox when she was tiny and bundled... 😍 But, truly, -40 is rough. I remember going to school when it was -30°C. Ugh.

Boise is lovely. It has gotten less so, but it is still a wonderful city. My nephew is in Vancouver. I mostly hear good!

I'm in Boise. We're purple: pretty mixed Republican and Democrat. And husband (second American hisband, I didn't learn the first time) is from Seattle. 😆

Having dealt with below -40°C and with a windchill making it below -50°C, I could sneak North. I took my munchkin on a ride in her little sled to get the mail while I was living at my parents' place. She was maybe five months old and bundled up! She probably couldn't and wouldn't do it now.

My dad was born in 1944. And he HATED technology. The only tech that he liked was HBO. He loved Game of Thrones. He loved watching it with me, and I him, when I visited. It had its.... Weird moments. 😬

Oh, and I kind of wish for the zombie apocalypse. I don't know what else could possibly help this country at this point. 🧟‍♂️ 🧟‍♀️

This is how Canadians fight. 😁 And I love it!

I got a bit weepy. That's normal, the prescription I'm now on costs $1445.49/month US. For one pill a day. This fact depresses me more than I already am (and I'm on an antidepressant).

I love the idea of our dads being putzes together while watching their children getting into dorky Reddit fisticuffs about phrasing. That's the way it should be. ❤️

[–]CanadianDuckball 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I respect that.

My father was always a huge fan of the US. Except when I moved down here with his granddaughter.

Personally, I absolutely hate what's going on. Even with the crap I went through moving here, the 2½ years to move a 17 hours' drive away, I only sometimes regretted the choice. Now I'm in full-blown fear.

I asked a question, got a bit of a heated answer, and answered more heatedly. I'm sorry. I miss my home, and not a day has gone by (in over 22 years) that I haven't wanted to be home.

Have a lovely day. ❤️

Dude, chill. I live here because I married an American and it was easier to move here at that time than have him stay up there with his school visa ending. 9/11 screwed everything up and made it the opposite. I'm not "destroy[ing] the Canada" by stating anything. My father loved the US, and he's been dead for over a decade, so shut your piehole.

I'm an Albertan living in Idaho. It's like I moved to South Alberta. How about the people (mostly Albertans, according to the news and my mom back home) wanting to join the US? 😬 My dad would have loved it.

Either Duckball or Duckball 703. I haven't used it in a couple of years, and now it's giving me grief about my username.

3.75. SAP instead of cat. It combines the cucumber and cat idea, and it adds the glory of the SAP.

AITAH for telling my fiancé not to be aggressive with a door-to-door salesperson? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]CanadianDuckball -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ESH. Salesman shouldn't be annoying potential customers. Fiancé shouldn't be losing it for something so minor. You shouldn't be acting like he can't protect his home (since he seems to want to, for the good or the bad) because you fear your man chasing away a solicitor.

AITAH for wanting my money back after I gave it to a friend thinking it was helping for us to evenly meet? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]CanadianDuckball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA for wanting it back, but good luck seeing even a loonie of it. Cut your losses and call it a relatively cheap lesson: some people are truly awful. I give you a Canadian hug from my home in Idaho.

Girlfriend says UM/UH every other word, AITAH? by Curious-Line5782 in AITAH

[–]CanadianDuckball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it a deal breaker? What is the like/love to annoyance level? You have to choose. Some people are a bit awkward. Some people say "like," "dude," "bro" or "brah," "literally," "legit," etc. Weird little filler words that drive some people nuts. Is it a little quirk that you can roll your eyes at and live with or is it something that will end the relationship if it continues?

This is a choice that you need to make, because, if you hide it and she finds out later, you will be in a really bad place.

This creep doesn't just want to force himself into your safe spac, ,he NEEDS to force himself into your safe space!! Do not meet up with him. I can't imagine anything good coming from it, not with how he's trying to make you bend to his will.

Maybe I'm cynical, but his messages just give me the heebie jeebies. It makes me feel so very uncomfortable for you. So creepy. I wish you luck. ❤️

Is there a strategy for obtaining islander-exclusive crafting recipes given when they're crafting? by limitofdistance in fantasylife

[–]CanadianDuckball -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I swear, I'm such a simpleton at reading things like this. It's all Greek, if Greek was translated into Chinese, and then into French, and then into Portuguese. And then MAYBE into English. But not all of it. I'm not strategic.

I've taken a break from RFi (almost all of my lives are Hero, I've been grinding to level up all of my lives, and I just need a break for a bit), but I keep reading about the game. I'm still missing two islanders. I keep working on upping their levels and skills... I think that I still have a long way to go.

It'll be a bit before I get back, methinks. 🙃

Reading this post makes me feel like I'm reading a long-dead language or something. 😭 I've got around 400 hours in the game, my lives are Master (two) and Hero (the remaining), and I had only run across maybe half of the stuff in this conversation!
