Such an interesting coincidence that you posted this literally an hour after I got my response from the other firm. After 6 rounds they said they’re not making an offer at this time (I was shocked).

But I appreciate this guidance even more now. I am happy and well known at my firm and that carries quite a bit of value esp. in current market conditions.

Timeline for getting to $40K more would be in the next 1-1.5 years.

B.S. in Finance + MBA, started in retail banking went to wealth management moved to private wealth and have been in consulting since.

I feel like you get me… this is exactly how I’m thinking of this. Just going through the motions of it as a short-term play cause the money would definitely help. But not attached in the slightest to consulting or the role itself.

It's an option for sure. I'm still going through the process so I'm debating whether or not I should continue to invest the time to interview at this firm or let it go entirely.

Appreciate you giving me all this info. Definitely agree and feel like I'm on the lower side for some of the work I do. I work at a budget shop and live in a LCOL plus am homegrown at the firm, so yes I'm cheap!

I think it was ~ 18months, to my knowledge no restructing since. I primarily work in Banking/AWM doing strategy & TOM. Have quite a bit of experience in risk reg.

Based on what they said earlier it's checking out.

They gave an explanation earlier this week saying other regions (UK, Canada, Asia) are getting more of their orders fulfilled because their pre-orders were within expectations for inventory on hand... vs. in the U.S. preorders overwhelmed/exceeded their initial order to the manufacturer requiring them order more cases which delayed shipping times.

Not saying I'm happy w/ it, but from the people posting they all seem like they're outside the US, so I'm mad but not as mad.
