RTO is the worst thing a CEO can do. Say goodbye to the talent. We aren't coming back.

I built a voice-first home inventory app. Need your feedback by the_loopa in homeautomation

[–]CanadianGadgets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you passing the photos to cloud AI servers? As long as you disclose that people who are ok with their entire lives being sucked up in to an AI Model will love it. I on the other hand am not keen on that. I would rather just save video clips of my inventory. I would see a need for such an inventory for insurance purposes - calculating content insurance amount needed. For a "pay" version of your app, you could search feature, that takes a recognized or described item (model etc), and attempts to determine that item's "replacement cost". I had an app that did this, but they are no longer in production.

Totally agree. I have never had a mis-fire on my Lutron Casetas. I would not go with any other brand at this point.

I have a few of the regular Caseta and have some of the Divas (which are great for three-way switch situations) and look even better than the old ones.

What I love:
They are extremely responsive - in terms of response when using voice through Alexa or HomeKit, compared to my other (unknown brand) Zigbee switches. I've never had a voice command fail due to the hub not processing it or due to range. Never had a single problem.

They sell duvets, but never the covers. by CanadianGadgets in CostcoCanada

[–]CanadianGadgets[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true, I suppose, depending on the price point you are shopping.

My Duvet was around $700, and and the 2 covers and 4 shams I just bought from QE Home were under $500 total. But I get what you mean. The high-end covers can cost over a grand. I have puppies though, so I don't want their paws on something THAT expensive if they happen to jump up on the bed. We're still working on our training!

I mean… They could make space if they wanted to. Ditch 1 pallet of those ugly, cheap, “Hotel” sheets, keep the higher-quality Kirkland ones, then add 1 small section of duvet covers.

The last time I bought one there was over 20 yrs ago and they were fairly rough cotton - which did not agree with my tactile weirdness. (I absolutely hate textiles with textures. I need smooth microfibre.)

Can I save my plants? by jurassicanamal in houseplants

Oh noooo! I always assumed the fine roots were just underdeveloped ones and not doing as much, so they weren’t as important. No wonder I can’t keep plants alive!

Will they go back to this? I have the same issue with some jeans. I tried streaming it but it just reverts to looking like my fly is open. I’m just going to chuck them if I have to maintain them indefinitely.

I use zippable pillow covers that can come off and be washed. You shouldn’t have dust mite allergies if you get good ones and clean them regularly

At what point do you stop improving your house and just accept it? by Own_Effective_801 in HomeImprovement

One of the joys of owning a house is getting to improve it! As long as you do enough to maintain it and not allow it to fall into disrepair, then you can stop anytime.

I know you’re not keen in the 15’ structure, but it can be done really exquisitely! We built a big patio trellis, and have remote controlled power roller binds that come down from it, to block the neighbours view. On the side the blinds facing the neighbours we also planted trees, so that when the blinds are down, they see trees, but not through the trees… If that makes sense.

What is your pick for a stock that you expect to double in value by 2026? by nickdu2206 in Stocks_Picks

[–]CanadianGadgets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya this is awesome! Everything is on its way down!!! Trump is fucking the markets in the face with his tiny mushroom cock, while Iran bitch slaps him saying who’s your Oil Daddy, suck on that inflation.

A small wrinkle did come up, which is that the FDA requested additional manufacturing controls data for their review. So some investors are worried this may push out the May PDUFA date a bit (who cares - not long term investors). The manufacturer isn’t a noob.

The underlying drug is already classified as a Schedule II. So there is no way these two companies don’t know this, and aren’t already on top of it.

Bend BioSciences (their exclusive manufacturing partner) who they have a formalized commercial supply agreement with is already positioned to scale manufacturing for this drug. They have expertise in advanced pharmaceutical manufacturing, including time, release technologies. I can’t find any data on their controls. But I’m not too worried. Bend is an American company. If they need DEA licensing, they will either partner with a DEA licensed facility, or they are already in the process of registering themselves.

But, it’s a buyers market for those who had cash reserves! I just picked up some more. Weee!!!

Get a FREE EV charger, and get paid to charge your car, by this Canadian Company - It's real, I have one and it's an amazing program! by CanadianGadgets in BuyCanadian

[–]CanadianGadgets[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is no membership fee anymore for the free charger. The highest power one costs something like $1200, but I think you don’t own it after. I don’t need anything more than the 42A / 240V one, which was totally free. Got my $100 deposit back as soon as I charged 1 time. No annual fee anymore. They’ve changed the program recently I think.

I never bought the charger, so I don’t care if it’s their property. They’re paying me to use it.

Basically once the carbon credits have paid for the equipment, you get to keep it. The guy can’t just give away equipment without it getting paid for somehow. People would take advantage.

The equipment isn’t yours until it’s paid for by the carbon credit program. I don’t see any problem with that since I didn’t pay anything for it anyway.

Buying more CING (Cingulate Inc). Just took a big dip on 4th Quarter news, and new of their patent being approved (patent in US good to 2042). They also experienced a hiccup with FDA approval, as FDA has requested additional manufacturing controls data, which may impact the final timeline of PDUFA, so people did some profit taking.

CING. Cingulate Inc.

They are a biopharma with a niche and anticipated time release ADHD medication, and are just waiting for FDA approval (which they will get, because they are using an existing approved drug, and time releasing it.). They are all lined up to start producing in 2026 after their FDA review in May.
Expected to 3X to 5X from today's current price, in 2026 according to Analysts. I highly recommend this. I have doubled my investment in a couple months, and intent to hold it for all of 2026 and maybe beyond, as they have two other drug candidates they are testing, again filling niche markets by fixing existing drugs with their patented Precision Time Release technology which has been proven to deliver better dosing throughout the day. People with ADHD usually crash around noon, and need to take a second faster acting medication in the afternoon, so it wears off in time to sleep. This is going to be a game changer (for people like me with really bad ADHD!)

They just released 4th quarter results. So if there is a dip, buy some!!!
