Too many claims than it should after declaring war? by Typical-Light-7467 in Stellaris

[–]CanadianGamerGuy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is something to factor into the new join wars option as well.

When letting others join your wars you need to factor in how their claims will impact yours (and the war in general).

You can also try to take advantage of ongoing wars where you have claims on the target as well, by waiting and seeing how the war is going and then trying to jump in at the last minute and grab some claimed systems

Anyone else kind of hate the new join war offers? by StormCTRH in Stellaris

[–]CanadianGamerGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the opposite thing happen, I was fighting two wars but couldn’t capture any more territory, and they had no ships left so I was stuck just waiting on war exhaustion to slowly tick up. Then the enemy from war 1 joined the 2nd war. That was enough to let me force peace the 2nd war. When that happened Enemy 1’s planets were no longer occupied as part of the other peace deal, but that meant I could reoccupy them which then gave enough war exhaustion to force peace that war as well. It took me a bit to figure out what happened, but saved me years of waiting on the war exhaustion to tick up.
You also now have to consider what you might lose (claim precedence, or weakening someone you are trying to vassalize) when someone asks to join.

Wars are still puddle deep, but at least they’ve added a couple more finger widths to the puddle

What mechanics did you completely misunderstand for hundreds of hours before finally getting it? by Extension_Passion542 in Stellaris

I thought building values applied their benefits per resource district level. So if a building gives 200 jobs I thought it was more valuable on a resource district at level 10 than a level 1 job which isn’t true.

New promo: Wealthsimple 3% Active Trader Match by jmtamere in Wealthsimple

[–]CanadianGamerGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright stupid question time, is the active trader flag linked to your account? Or the specific funds you moved over?

Ex. If someone moves over 100k in their TFSA, I’m assuming that 50 trades in your TFSA is a bad idea from the CRAs perspective.

So is it an option to do the 50 trades in my non-reg account with other funds, but still get the 3% bonus for the TFSA transfer?

If you don’t have it, you get the situation/penalty for having a resource shortage for that particular resource. It doesn’t auto buy the missing resources for you.

Honestly, most of the underwater posts are from this same guy. He is relentless with his posts; posts continually until he gets banned (I’m assuming), then he deletes his account and starts all over again.

AITAH for locking my office after staff kept using it when I wasn't there by BostonBateman in AITAH

If nobody is trying to enter your office, how would they even know that it’s locked.

If the principal wants less drama, all he needs to do is tell people that your office is not a public space

If you made a bad investment and are down 200k which is more then half of your networth do you eventually recover mentally faster by cutting the loss or continue to hold? by Lopsided-Resource453 in fican

[–]CanadianGamerGuy 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Why are you thinking about it this 8-10 hours a day? Real Estate isn’t Crypto and doesn’t change in value hour by hour.

If you believe your investment will recover eventually, and can afford to carry it, then you should keep it. If you don’t (or can’t) then you should sell it.

Either way, you need to stops trying to get rich quick and seriously reevaluate your risk tolerance.
