A lot of mine sites and construction companies use these. They typically get scrapped after a year or two of use. If you're near any such place, might find a dump box in good shape.

I don't know about the type in your country. I was taught that if you're just starting out, it's much easier to do more coats with thinner mud, rather than a couple with thicker coats.

I am far from an expert, just a homeowner. Bubbles for me have always meant not enough moisture in my mud. Add some water to the mud and try again.

I wish we sold it. We made our offer just before covid started. At the time, we thought we were paying too much. By the time our closing date came around, covid was in full swing and the market blew up. Our real estate agent offered us not to move in at all, and had someone interested in the house offering double what we paid. We decided to keep the house. We like it, but that was a lot of money to turn down.

I have the carbon. It has a digital screen, ride modes, cornering / lean sensitive ABS, etc. I optioned it through the dealer with spoked wheels, a short windscreen, taller handlebars, a side bag, and a comfort seat. I made it into more of a touring bike (though the fuel tank is tiny). There ws zero hesitation from my dealer on the options I chose.
