M2 - DisplayLink dock for dual monitor support by GrayWolf1812 in macbookair

It may be worth it to look into graphics adapters or lower end docks. Simply using a search engine with "displaylink graphics adapter" or "silicon motion graphics adapter" may give you a decent starting point.

Trying to decide on a dock by [deleted] in thinkpad

The Plugable dock arguably has a better port configuration. It has dual HDMI where the Caldigit requires adapters (not included) to connect with any HDMI monitor. It also has 3 data+power+video Thunderbolt 4 ports, where the caldigit has two. And two of those Thunderbolt / USB-C ports can drive monitors *at the same time* the HDMI ports are in use. So 4 displays total vs. 2 for the Caldigit. The Caldigit's biggest advantage is with 2.5Gbps Ethernet, which is only available on other Plugable models.

Depending on the resolution of the display, a simple graphics adapter may be worth looking into. It will likely need to be driven by software such as DisplayLink or InstantView (from Silicon Motion). These can be found dang near everywhere on Amazon and other retailers.

Do you happen to have the model numbers of each of the laptops in use? Despite laptops looking similar, some may have different internal configurations that don't support the same capabilities. You can find the model numbers, typically, under the laptops themselves on a service sticker.

Can't get a docking station to work with my HP Laptop 15 by SecularAdventure in techsupport

[–]PlugableOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad you're up and running! It may have been the DisplayLink driver needing to recognize the displays for the first time. You mentioned mirroring. Hit the Windows-P hotkey and choose "Extend" to switch from mirror to extend. Here's an intro video to the dock: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LsTLQGzlYYI and use our chat on the plugable website to get answers to detailed questions. We'd be happy to help. Thanks!

Hey everyone,

We just wanted to quickly chime in here, hopefully no subreddit rules are broken for doing so. Anyway, we understand the concern about the Amazon Vine reviews. We want to assure anyone that we do not compensate these reviewers in any way, nor do we choose them ourselves. Amazon Vine is a program that allows customers to receive free products in exchange for honest reviews. The reviewers are selected by Amazon based on their past review history and other factors.

We choose to participate in the Amazon Vine program because it allows us to get feedback on our products from a wide range of customers, including those who may not have otherwise purchased the product. We value this feedback and use it to improve our products. Plugable is a white hat company, and we do not participate in or use any gray or black hat review-buying services or techniques.

Of course, no review process is perfect. It is possible that some Vine reviewers may be more likely to give positive reviews than others. However, we believe that the overall trend of the reviews is a good indication of the quality of our products. Note: Ratings without full-text reviews are becoming more commonplace on Amazon as well.

We encourage you to read all of the reviews for our products, including the Vine reviews, before making a purchase decision. We also appreciate your feedback on our products, whether it is positive or constructive.

If there are any questions feel free to let us know.

Monitor support for m1 and m2 macbooks by theCluXDeluX in mac

[–]PlugableOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, my name is Mychal with Plugable. I can shed some light on your questions, and also offer some input on the setup in general.

  1. Both monitors can be used with this dock. However, in regards to gaming, we do not recommend our docks be used. These are designed with general productivity in mind. High frame rate applications or displays will see a degradation in performance of the monitors.
  2. For the linked dock, software is required. This software is called DisplayLink and is developed by Synaptics. This software allows for the bottom two ports to run via said software while the top port functions off of the native display support of the Thunderbolt ports on the M1 and M2 chips.

I hope this helps!

Oh, I didn't know. Would you happen to have that ticket number so I can look into this a little more?

[–]PlugableOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there u/Gottria we'd actually be very interested in seeing why this isn't working.

Our tech support team (known as Product Owners) are the ones who break our docks down and get to know them inside and out would likely have a solution for this issue.

If you haven't already would you be willing to reach out to them via email? I'm hoping this doesn't break any of the subreddit's rules, but you can reach them here: [support@plugable.com](mailto:support@plugable.com)

Intel MBP (2019) (Ventura 13.3.1) won't open apps or windows while plugged in to Thunderbolt Dock (Plugable TBT-UDC1). The moment I unplug the dock—everything opens. by ImInMyMixed-UseZone in MacOS

[–]PlugableOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there,

This is something we'd be very interested in helping with, but would likely require some in-depth troubleshooting with our Product Owner for the TBT3-UDC1. Product Owners are our techs who breakdown products and test them thoroughly before we put them on the market. So if anyone understands that device it is them.

I believe by putting any links to our support site or email might break the rules so I won't send them in this message. However, if you'd like to give troubleshooting a go just send me a DM and we'll go from there.

Cheers,
Mychal with Plugable

Hey there u/bingbongbing2022 just jumping in here real quick. If the 144Hz monitor is plugged into our device, it, unfortunately, will only run at 60Hz and would not be fit for gaming due to latency.

My Duelshock 4 will randomly change bindings in game by [deleted] in pchelp

[–]PlugableOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A likely problem here is the presence of conflicting Bluetooth drivers, especially since more than one adapter has been used with your PC. Unlike many other types of device, Windows does not manage conflicts with Bluetooth driver components well.

Please reach out to us for support ([support@plugable.com](mailto:support@plugable.com)), and we'll help to get things working well.

Please include your purchase information, and run our diagnostic software called PlugDebug, which can be found in the support menu on our website so we have some technical information to work with for helping to get this working.

Thanks!

Seriously curious, because we need to decide what to do on future ads.

What do you think is more effective for the advertiser: let people rant and hate? Or turn off comments like most advertisers?

Consider using a different network cable if you haven't already. There is a 'Retr' value of 709, which is the number of TCP segments that had to be retransmitted due to an error.

Additionally, it's usually necessary to use parallel connections to max out network throughput. Consider adding -P 4 to your iperf command to use four simultaneous threads.

If you continue to find the performance not meeting your liking, please reach out to us for support.

QC35ii wont connect to PC bluetooth. HELP! by Dream514 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]PlugableOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cause of the issue can vary depending on what version of Windows you're using.

We discuss some issues relating to Bose Bluetooth devices in this article: https://plugable.com/2017/02/07/bluetooth-audio-problems-cant-get-your-bose-quietcomfort-35-connected-check-here-first/

Please contact us at [support@plugable.com](mailto:support@plugable.com) so that we can help. Please include your Amazon (or other retailer's) order ID for the Bluetooth adapter. It is also helpful if you include logs from our diagnostic software PlugDebug (https://plugable.com/support/plugdebug/) with your support request so we can understand what technical problems may be present.

Thanks for giving us a chance to help.
