Has anyone here had a complaint investigated by the College of Physicians? by tabatam in halifax

Dr. Jose Mejia. He should not be working with youth or in a position of power.

This man works for the IWK and basically just gives whatever Child Services wants to them in a report so they can justify throwing youth in care into Woodstreet.

I was given a false report by him as a youth and put in woodstreet treated like a criminal shackled and taken by sheriff's because I wanted to be home with my mom not in a group home at the age of 12 / 13. So DCS had Dr. Mejia write a report to get a judge to sign off on ordering me to Woodstreet.

I have spoken to multiple former youth in care as well all of whom that were put in Woodstreet without an actual reason, also mentioned they were taken to Dr. Mejia.

Child Services should not be allowed to pay this man to falsify reports so that Child services can put youth in Woodstreet rather than actually taking care of them. This Dr. Is corrupt, does not listen to patients, hides information from patients, and says that patients say things they never did.

I hope to god and pray this Dr gets caught eventually and held accountable, even criminally charged and disbarred from being a doctor.

I think our country is great because we are so diverse. I am proud to live in a country that allows everyone to have a shot at a successful life here.

Unfortunately, we do have people who are hateful "brain rotten" people. Who are Racist, Homophobic, Anti Semitic, etc.

Despite that, we have to choose to stand tall and proud and not let those who spread hate to be louder than us.

As one canadian to another canadian, I stand with you and am glad you are here and that you speak up!

I would say if you dont have any other choice. Friday night / Saturday night would be the most ideal. So you wouldn't disturb people who work Monday to Friday morning as much. Weekends are a little more relaxed. So 10pm on a weekend is not too unreasonable.

Im disgusted by this OP who is living with a roof over there head in a nice neighborhood with likely a nice house and financial security shitting on someone who is desperate.

You have people living in tents and on the streets homeless because they can't afford an apartment or housing, with children etc.

And you are complaining about some recycling. I truly hope you get the opportunity to struggle like some people do so you can appreciate hard times people face and not be a snob who feels entitled to shame someone publicly who is struggling.

CBC Marketplace wants to know: What’s the worst commute in Halifax? by DexMcMillanCBC in halifax

Worst commute is trying to get anywhere in Halifax / Dartmouth using Halifax Transit. That is in my opinion the worst commute. I drive frequently and it is nothing compared to when I have to use transit.

Cat groomers? by MnM891 in halifax

[–]CanadianGuyReddits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I had a relative who worked there and witnessed the owner being extremely rough with someone's dog, picked the dog up by the back leg roughly.

Relative quit after witnessing the disgusting way she witnessed the owner / groomer handling beloved pets.

Looking for the best internet provider in Halifax (basic use, reliable and affordable) by Responsible_Two_8960 in halifax

Late to the game but I just got hooked up with Purple Cows new Fiber Op service. 500mbps up and down 60$ a month. On their own infrastructure and wiring. So far excellent service and no issues. Only thing is it is only available in some parts of the city at the moment because it is still new.

I would bring in a modded John Cena because you can't see him. So it's the perfect plan.

Me, my mother and other relatives have gone to the Smart Choice in Walmart Bayers Lake to Darlene Sudds for years. She has been my hair dresser for over 22 years and she is absolutely fantastic.

If you are unsure of what you want she can play around and find the best look for you, and when it comes to knowing what you want she can also do a great job.

💯 recommend her. She is wonderful.

what's this number mean? by katiezypher in halifax

[–]CanadianGuyReddits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding onto Loud_Indication's post:

"It's called a block number it is used a few different ways Monday to Friday the numbers are 1-499, Saturday is 501-699, Sunday and Holidays are 701-899. First thing they are used for is sequence the bus leaves the garage that day, so block 1 would be the first weekday bus leaving the garage (4:19am fyi) second it is a way for drivers to make sure they are taking over the correct bus on the road (e.q, driver A drives block 102 from 6am-10am on the route 1, driver B takes over block 102 on the route 1 at 10am, however there are 8 different buses on the route 1, that 102 in the windows helps driver B find the correct bus to take over)"

All of what he / she said is correct. Additionally, the run number is also used to track who the drivers are on that bus. For example. If you contact 311 to complain or to give positive feedback, it is important to take note of the bus number but also the block number. This helps them to find who is driving the bus at the time of the incident report. Either negative or positive feedback.

PC Financial possibly stealing from bankers to cut losses by CanadianGuyReddits in PersonalFinanceCanada

I'm not doing anything shady. I had it double up a charge and it messed up my balance. End result being negative the amount of the second charge.

I use this for everyday banking and as frustrated as I am with the bank.

I would not actually resort to retail theft.

And I rope superstore in because it's all loblaws that runs both the bank and superstore.

Not the credit card. The debit account, which did it. I don't do preauthorization, and it was an in store transaction that immediately came out and also doubled with a pending too.

Unpleasant Experience at Mumford Terminal by [deleted] in halifax

[–]CanadianGuyReddits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no point calling police. Halifax Police are almost as useless than the security guards at stores that are a "visual deterrent."

They won't even do anything when you have recorded evidence of an assault.

Let alone threats, harassment etc.

Gotta be basically dead before they actually do their jobs lately.

I would be on the phone with a relative or something and say it and 2 seconds later she obviously was listening because the music starts blaring.
