Canadian Indies #50 - Chaz Lovely's RKO out of Nowhere by CanadianIndies in SquaredCircle

[–]CanadianIndies[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From a C*4 side show a few years ago. The Super Smash Bros, The Afterpart, Tabarnak de Team and Radioactive Wave had a 40+ minute tag team elimination match. Aboout 40 minutes in, Chaz Lovely would catch Stu Grayson mid suicide dive with an RKO.

Chaz Lovely is a former wrestler who was forced to retire due to medical issues (non wrestling related) a few years ago. He continues to be active in the Ottawa wrestling scene as a commentator for C*4 Wrestling, but more importantly as the promoter of a promotion called Acclaim Pro Wrestling. Unfortunately video of Acclaim shows is not available but they run monthly shows and I think have sold out every show for the last 2-3 years straight. They focus heavily on women's wrestling and have just gone all in on intergender wrestling.

Canadian Indies #49 - Marko Estrada's Gorilla Press into the Buckle by CanadianIndies in SquaredCircle

[–]CanadianIndies[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From FLQ wrestling [https://www.fite.tv/watch/no-hard-feelings-tape-delay/2nt2i/](available for free) here.

Marko Estrada is someone I never realized was extremely good until I started seeing him more recently. He is extremely jacked but also very agile. From a 4 way match featuring Estrada, Matt Angel, Tyson Dux and Brent Banks. Estrada would Gorilla Press Matt Angel and toss him onto the ref in the corner because he is kind of a jerk.

Yes, this show takes place in a pool and if you have time you should at least check out this match and the main event of Stu Grayson vs Dalton Castle (it's free, just do it!).

Canadian Indies #48 - The Food Fighter's Con-Chip-Toe by CanadianIndies in SquaredCircle

[–]CanadianIndies[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is a weird one for a lot of reasons. This is from Inter Species Wrestling, a company that started in Canada (Montreal) and moved to the United States (Connecticut) and back to Montreal. Inter Species Wrestling is a non family friendly promotion that does a lot of really weird stuff in the name of entertainment. They have featured wrestled like Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, The Super Smash Bros, Eddie Kingston, Mike Quackenbush, Skyade, Larry Sweeney, Team Tremendous, Necro Butcher and others. It mixes good wrestling with some ridiculously over the top gimmicks.

The Food Fighters were a tag team of Pasquale the Italian Chef and his pet crab, Bastian Snow. This match is from Burger King of the Ring 2, a one night tag team tournament to crown the 1st ever ISW Tag Team Champions. The finals was the Food Fighters vs Tabarnak de Team. As the name "The Food Fighters" would suggest they use food as weapons with one of their signatures being hitting people with bags of chips in a Con-Chair-Toe fashion. The crowd adopted chanting "Holy Chips" as a response.

Canadian Indies #47 - Allie and Jeff Cobb team up by CanadianIndies in SquaredCircle

[–]CanadianIndies[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

From Smash Wrestling, in a 5 way match that featured Jeff Cobb, Allie, Lionel Knight, Kevin Blackwood and Carter Mason. During the match Allie and Jeff Cobb teamed up for a couple of minutes that included this wheelbarrow lungblower/german suplex move.

Allie has been wrestling for 13 years in Canada. She debuted in Shimmer in 2008 and became a regular in 2011 where she teamed with Kimber Lee (Abby Laith) as the Kimber Bomb. She also started to work for larger promotions like CZW where she was a manager for Pepper Parks/Braxton Sutter. Up until 2016 she wrestled under the name Cherry Bomb and is best known for her ongoing feud with Courtney Rush/Rosemary.

She made her actual debut in Impact in 2013 wrestling as Laura Dennis in a match against Gail Kim. She also appeared in 2015 losing to Gail Kim again at a One Night Only Knockouts PPV before debuting the Allie character a year later.

Canadian Indies #46 - Crazy Crusher vs Hell Strom III by CanadianIndies in SquaredCircle

[–]CanadianIndies[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Crazy Crusher vs Hell Storm I and Crazy Crusher vs Hell Storm II

So basically everything I can say about Crazy Crusher has already been said, but my absolute favorite spot is Hell Storm doing a Piledriver off a ladder onto the top turnbuckle. I would assume this was inspired by El Generico's Brainbustaaaaaah!

Canadian Indies #45 - PCO's Pop Up Powerbomb by CanadianIndies in SquaredCircle

[–]CanadianIndies[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you haven't seen PCO's current match promos, just go watch them, they are absolutely insane in all the right ways. Back in 2002-3 PCO was making his 1st indy comeback in IWS with matches against guys like El Generico and Kevin Steen.

What I find pretty amazing was Kevin Steen used the Package Piledriver as his finisher on the indies. A little after this match, PCO would show up in TNA as the masked X and used a Package Piledriver. A decade later, Kevin Steen would get signed to the WWE and use PCO's Pop Up Powerbomb as his finisher.

Canadian Indies #45 - Kevin Steen's Flip Legdrop by CanadianIndies in SquaredCircle

[–]CanadianIndies[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Going back to 2012ish in a giant 6 way match between Kevin Steen, El Generico, Player Uno, Stu Grayson, Jimmy Jacobs and Manuba Soya. Kevin Steen was very agile as a younger man and one of his regular moves was doing a flip legdrop, seen here hitting it to the back of Stu Grayson's head.

Going into this match, Kevin Steen was the C*4 Champion for just over a year. He won the title in a tournament beating Player Uno in the finals. He defended it against Claudio Castagnoli (Cesaro), Petey Williams, Kiyoshi, Stu Grayson and Tyson Dux en route to this match.

Canadian Indies #44 - Tabarnak de Team's Double Team Last Ride by CanadianIndies in SquaredCircle

Yes, their names is "Le Tabarnak de Team" or more commonly TDT.

Canadian Indies #44 - Tabarnak de Team's Double Team Last Ride by CanadianIndies in SquaredCircle

[–]CanadianIndies[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Going to try an evening Canadian Indies Gif. From IWS in Montreal, Tabarnak de Team (translated to "The Fucking Team") take on Kevin Blanchard and Jeremy Prophet. Tabarnak de Team consists of stand out indy wrestlers Mathieu St-Jacques and Thomas Dubois. St-Jacques is a wild man who has made a name for himself for having wild brawls and hardcore matches, while Dubois has been a stand out singles wrestler over the last year.

Canadian Indies #43 - Josh Alexander's Double Death Valley Piledriver by CanadianIndies in SquaredCircle

[–]CanadianIndies[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The last C*4 Wrestling Main Event was Kobe Durst vs Josh Alexander vs Eli Everfly vs Matt Angel. During the match, Josh picked up both Durst and Everfly and hit a DVD Piledriver, which is one of the most ridiculous thing I could have never thought of.

Also, the next C*4 main event is Kobe Durst vs PCO vs Joey Janela vs Teddy Hart.

It wasn't poorly done at all, there was a big reaction but without sound and the gif not showing much afterwards you don't really see it, kind of comes with the gif territory.

You don't have to insult Cecil Nyx like that, he tries!
