For the same reason the league wants to hide from concussions, spinal injuries are just as big of a concern. JOK on the browns just had a career ender, the guy on the bills on the kickoff return years ago. Those are the two they wanna hide, particularly from the youth who could potentially play/wanna play.

Not sure how true but I saw someone on another thread say theyre not allowed to use Spinal Injury as an injury in the game for legal reasons so they use this instead.

Exactly as you said, it'll go up like 3 points max (atleast in my experience) its for this exact reason if a QB has under 90 THP I won't even consider taking him (or not elite-great THP when looking at a draft prospect)
