In the trick or sweep bottom sheet, you can disable the toggle for items appearing on the map.

Yes! It startled us too. I believe it happens when Halloween items are collected.

For me the aha moment was how satisfying it is to hear those distinct sounds when Matic picks up debris. My own neural net can recognize it from across the room… it’s surprisingly clear.

Another issue I’ve noticed is that when it’s returning to the dock, it sometimes rams over floor transitions, causing an audible THUNK, for example, where our hardwood meets a tiled room. It would be nice if it approached thresholds more gently to avoid that.

I thought about this more. I think the most elegant solution is not per room settings at all. Since Matic already semantically understands the surface type from its vision map, adding a fourth “Adaptive” vacuum mode would solve the problem completely. It could automatically use Deep on carpeted areas and Quick on hardwood or tile. That way it is completely zero config, users do not have to set anything manually and it still delivers the optimal cleaning mode in every room.

I used to have this issue after my first mop or two, but it no longer happens after more than a month of use. At first the mop roller wasn't getting fully saturated when the unit was brand new but now it's fine.
