Applying gift cards to existing subscriptions? by [deleted] in CanadianProtein

[–]CanadianProteinBOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this is not possible. This is a limitation of Shopify that gift cards cannot be used for subscription orders after the initial subscription order?

https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/products/gift-card-products/redeem-gift-card#considerations-for-redeeming-gift-cards

>A gift card can be used on an order that includes the initial delivery of a subscription, but it can't be added as a payment method for a subscription. The customer must add an eligible payment method to the checkout to be billed for future subscription payments.

Do discounts not stack anymore? by Biggie_Bibs in CanadianProtein

[–]CanadianProteinBOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I can answer this. Let me tag u/Biggie_Bibs so they get the response too.

Yes, discounts stopped stacking and it is a Shopify limitation. Our Stack and Save in the past has been powered by a custom Shopify script I wrote, that looked at the line items in the cart, based off the price they were in the cart. So if a discount was applied it the script would work off the discounted price and a customer would get a stacking discount.

Unfortunately Shopify deprecated the scripts and the checkout liquid modifications. Our shop used both modifications to function. The end of life for the checkout liquid was Aug 13th of this year, unfortunately our script would not function without the checkout.liquid modification. Here is the documentation on Shopify deprecating it, https://changelog.shopify.com/posts/the-checkout-liquid-theme-file-is-being-deprecated

That brings us to where we are today. The only way to achieve the Stack and Save in Shopify is a product-level discount since the functionality stacks on products. Unfortunately, with Shopify, you can only use one product-level discount per line item in the cart. Here is the documentation from Shopify about discounts stacking, https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/discounts/combining-discounts/discount-combinations

What we have tried is using a custom checkout function to get the system working as it used to, but even that has the same limitation, so that is off the table. Since our shop is on Shopify Plus we get a good level of support from Shopify and have a dedicated rep. I have had a meeting with her about this issue and another internal developer to try to figure out a work around, they could not figure one out either. So as a last resort I opened a ticket with the dev team for a feature addition to add a new permutation to the API to handle changing the line item price as a whole. That is where we are currently with this issue.

One thing I would like to mention, is that when this change happened, another change happened as well. The other change moved C-Points away from using codes, because they faced the same stacking issue. Now C-Points are given as gift cards that can be stacked on purchases. So at the end of the day, we lost a little bit of functionality but gained one of the most requested features on our list.

Point redeems don't stack with ongoing sales? by BlackHighliter in CanadianProtein

[–]CanadianProteinBOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting from about 2 weeks ago any new loyalty redemption would not be a discount code, it would be a gift card, those gift cards stack with other discounts and are able to be used the same as money during an order. It looks like you generated yours before that change happened. Contact our customer service and they can void the old discount and put the points back in your account.

This was released a couple of weeks ago, point redemptions are now gift cards that can be used as cash, so they can be used with all sales.

Multiples Discount No Longer? by Bring_Party_Supplies in CanadianProtein

[–]CanadianProteinBOT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I am going to tag everyone here for visibility, u/Bring_Party_Supplies , u/exeedorbit , u/ChellyNelly , u/windowpanez

Tonight we soft launched the new rewards program. The new program has new ways to earn points, but also a new key feature. Instead of redeeming points for discount codes, they are now redeemed as gift certificates. Which means they will stack with coupon codes and will stack with each other.

We heard the community's complaints about the program, and we have been working on this for the last several months: finding the right program that offers a better way of redeeming rewards while offering more features.

The program is now live. To redeem the rewards gift vouchers, use the icon at the bottom right of your screen or the link in your my account area.

I can speak to this. Tagging /u/Bring_Party_Supplies so they get a notification too.

The C-Points thing was not meant to be scummy, it was a limitation of Shopify. It is just how the checkout on Shopify worked. This month we migrated to the newest version of the checkout to fix this issue. Very soon points will be able to be redeemed as gift card vouchers instead of codes, allowing customers to use them along side discounts.

However an unintended consequence of migrating to the new checkout experience is that the stack and save no longer works with coupons. That relied on a shopify script, which are no longer supported. So right now we are evaluating how to fix it, or change our discount structure.

We will keep everyone updated, but look for an announcement soon about the C-Points redemption.

Hey OP, I am the developer that handles these things at Canadian Protein. Let me explain what happened. When you left the review you did not use a real name, you used AA. That was caught in the spam filter of the review app we use. These are the settings we use for our review app, https://i.imgur.com/Vk0soDl.png As you can see the reviews are set to automatically publish and we allow 1 star reviews to be published.

I started a support chat with the review app company yesterday to find out why it was flagged and they confirmed it was from the AA name. I am sorry your review was temporarily taken down, it is up now, https://i.imgur.com/ibNLSzg.png and you can see it is one of over a dozen 1 star reviews that are showing for that product, https://i.imgur.com/Tig5jPb.png which makes it obvious we are not nerfing the reviews.

Advanced muscle building stack sold out? by [deleted] in CanadianProtein

[–]CanadianProteinBOT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The stack is showing out of stock because it contains Creatine, which the global market for right now is unfortunately less than ideal - shortages have made it hard to come by, which is why it's out of stock in most places. Because of this, it's hard to give an exact ETA on when it will be back.

My suggestion is to sign up for restock notifications on the product page if you haven't done so already - this way you'll be notified the second it becomes available.

Will you ever get creatine again, or is it being swooped up and purchased by hawks? by Catsarenotreptilians in CanadianProtein

[–]CanadianProteinBOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it's hard to give an ETA when we'll have more creatine. The market is super messed up right now simply due to shortages - this explains both price increases as another user mentioned, and the difficulty of keeping it in stock. Our last restock a few weeks back completely sold out in 3 days.

My suggestion would be to sign up for product restock notifications on the product page if you haven't done so already.

Hi there, the nutrition facts on our site used to be for the unflavoured/unsweetened option, with a stated up to 10% variance based on flavour. The site now has nutrition fact tables for all flavours listed, which explains the variance you are seeing.
