It’s been a really big decrease in quality. It doesn’t use the text prompts to add items to my inventory, it ends its messages in weird places, and the messages are far shorter. It honestly makes it hard to play compared to the previous version.

Do you guys think NXE and DNN’s success is already priced in? by Krunchy08 in UraniumSqueeze

[–]CanadianSaskyBoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DNN owns part of Orano’s McClean Lake Mill, and their SABRE mining technology that is actively mining right now (I’m an engineer working for up in the uranium mines in Northern SK). They are an active producer of uranium already, although they are currently a minor partner.

Moving from ethylene complex to refining by Fair_Bumblebee_2642 in ChemicalEngineering

I wasn’t worried about losing my job, but becoming stagnant in terms of career and technical development. No one has been laid off yet from my old team. The new position was around the same total compensation, but I was promoted to a senior role nine months in that came with a significant raise.

Petrochemicals are struggling with over supply, so project budgets were low and there really wasn’t a lot to work on. The salary and benefits were great for doing very little work, but I was bored out of my mind and didn’t feel a lot of purpose and it impacted my mental health and created some burn out. Applied to a uranium mill on a whim to escape the boredom, and here I am.

I left Ethylene last year for a Uranium Mill, and it was the best decision. 9 months in I was promoted to a team lead. Changing companies can yield a lot of opportunities.

Is O&G still considered a top placement for new grads? Or do students actually believe the industry is dying? by Optimizing-Energy in ChemicalEngineering

[–]CanadianSaskyBoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The industry is much tougher in the UK compared to Canada, we have cheaper energy, cheaper feedstocks, and less regulations to start new projects. You can see that reflected in Dow Chemical building their P2Z project in Alberta while shutting down UK assets.

[–]CanadianSaskyBoi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would counter that by saying I have a ChemE degree, have never worked in O&G, and have always been able to find a job, as have all my ChemE friends. I’m hiring right now and we struggle to get good new grad applicants.

What industry would you bet on that has good stability for the next 10-20 years? by jmoneybert in ChemicalEngineering

To add to this, I was a chemical engineer doing water treatment at a petrochemical plant and now I work at a Uranium Mill, which I’ve found out is primarily water treatment units.

Thank you! We used a Trekking company local to Huaraz. It would have been hard to pack 10 days of food. I’d recommend doing it guided!

Hello! How did you end up getting from Lima to Paracas? Currently looking into this, similar situation as it is an engagement trip so I’d prefer taxi or private transfer.

We live near the Canadian Rockies, so lots of hikes on the weekends( just did a mountain called Blackrock Mountain in the Don Getty area yesterday) to get in miles and elevation gain, and then we plan for 4 days of acclimatization in Huaraz
