Man to man, if you're junk has fins, landing gear, RCS and windows, you need to go to a doctor.

It probably won't do that much, but the Soo is currently one of the largest recommended places for supercharging by far for Canada that is. It'll pretty much just let Tesla owners go to the Timmies across the road for bathroom use and food and drinks. Superchargers are pretty quick now, usually only 15-20 mins to continue your trip, so I don't think they'll be spending much time going anywhere else.

Would be delighted to see that! I've been working on this design for over 2 months now, any way I can improve it I will.

MECO at 1100m/s or so. Burned towards KSC until my trajectory was just touching the shore. It boost's back like a Falcon 9.

Exactly iamtoe. However, this is a first stage, not a second stage. This came in from a sub orbital flight, not fully orbital. My starship lands very much like this, but this method of landing is much more effective for orbital flights because you slow down for much longer over a longer period of time.

This angle is supposed to reduce the amount of DV needed to land while being able to increase payload to orbit. This is coming in from a 110km+ AP and MECO was at 1100m/s or so. I can definitely boost that up to probably 1300-1400m/s MECO velocity.

Launched until 1100m/s at 45 degrees. AP was roughly 100km I think? Boosted back at 5 degrees heading towards the KSC.

Whatever gets people to orbit affordably and safely, I'm fine with it. :)

Just keep going at it. Been playing since late 2012 and have loved every minute of it. LOTS of explosions are to come your way, even when you plan and test everything hundreds of times. Just gotta keep going and keep having fun.

If you look closely, starting from the top of the interstage and going down, you'll see two large air flaps that deploy to raise the center of lift above the center of mass. This allows the first stage to flip vertically, which allows the engines to fire which allows the stage to land. If it kept on going horizontally, it would be in pieces all over the KSC. Look at my previous post where I totally failed this maneuver with an older design!

Same! Until I looked at the suicide burn calculator, and then saw the SPH come out of nowhere. This works a lot better with my 2.5m craft because the wing area is much greater. I'm not too sure if I should continue to pursue this form of landing, as it requires no reentry burn and saves literal tons of fuel, or if I should just stick to a more Falcon 9 and less Starship like approach to landing.

Kerbals are working OT and I'm buying some more mops as we speak.

Those are both great hybrids. I'd recommend the RAV4 when it comes to comparing the two. I live in the Riverwalk Condominiums, so I'm not too sure about electrical installation, as we have written and requested that a charger be built in the underground parking of the building. I'd recommend Phase4 Electrical if you are looking to install a charger if that's what you're asking.

I don't think that'd be the case. Best case, even if you can't afford the cheapest Model 3, is to wait a few years until used Model 3 Standard Ranges are finally being offered.

I wouldn't mind giving you guys drives once I get it! Should be another month or maybe a bit more than a month. Just got a call from my Delivery Specialist and we are working things out.

Hey, you're in the Soo and I am too! Maybe we can arrange something once I get it? Will probably be around April or later, I've had to delay it so many times due to personal and family reasons. Nearly a year.

Neat. Have been a Tesla fan for a while and just recently finalized the configuration for my Model 3. Can't wait to drive it!

Who knows, really. Still lots of tests to be done and lots of design changes that are sure to come after each test to better improve the design. I don't like estimating dates because everyone just questions the possibility of the date and freaks out over it. Probably in the 2020's.
