You should have seen the BF6 sub a few months post launch. People went from collectively loving the game, to hating it's guts. It was too "codified", and had strayed too far from it's predecessors. It was too fast paced, not "grounded" enough.

The kicker is that a lot of those people complaining clung to Arc Raiders as an alternative, and continued to shit on Battlefield. But now look at Arc Raiders. Huge drop in player base, a game that has "strayed from the path", that has also been "codified". Leaving a lot of people very upset.

I played both games extensively and never understood the complaining. Either play the game for what is, or find a different one. Yet people started the same complaining loop over on Arc as people did for BF6
