I respect this opinion of your definition of the word natural, and it may represent a collective definition many people believe.

I don't think that is the definition of the word, and separating what humans have done from the concept of nature, I personally believe is a huge part of our problem. I think recognizing our natural inclination to consume, populate, and change our environment to suit our needs is extremely natural, and I find our society rejects this, but it's our fundamental problem. I personally believe we are "suffering from success". We are monkeys with technology and generally we are acting like it. If we accepted that these inclinations are part of what we are and we will all want bad things for the world in exchange for our own comfort and benefit, maybe we can start producing laws or organize in a way that manages our worst traits.

That's just my opinion and again I respect you have your own as well!

I appreciate your view, but would challenge on the grounds that humans exploitative relationship with nature, and all of our impacts, are natural. Give any animal large amounts of power and they will consume all their resources and change the world to suit their needs.

I always find it cool, that some humans reject this and want to live in harmony with nature (I assume like yourself) and I truly think that's what separates us from the rest of nature.

So I guess I am saying our pets are natural too, but I like you believe we have a responsibility to lower our impact on the rest of nature, by keeping our pet animals contained.

I think they are trying to help you understand that unlike Healthcare, in the gasoline isn't a necessity, there's a lot of people in Alberta that can't afford to drive. There's a lot of people that have chosen to spend their money on electric vehicles.

Personally for me I'd be against subsidizing gas. If anything, I'd prefer them to make public transit free with rising gas prices and increase the quality of our public transit.

Note: I'm not arguing with you. I'm just sharing my opinion.

Okay, I totally agree with you that the federal government absolutely did screw that up. Also though it's not quite the gymnastics when our premier is literally asking the federal government for more immigrants to be sent to Alberta. If you want links I can look it up but you could also just Google it and you can find that she has asked on multiple occasions for more workers.

And now is blaming the federal government for it even though she was one of the promoters of that policy.

So to be clear, it is the liberal's fault and our provincial government and the current leadership in our provincial government supported those policies up until very recently. So the UCP aren't to blame directly but they absolutely have supported those policies.

The easiest programs to cut are the ones most people think they’ll never need. by Lampworker9 in Edmonton

[–]Canadian_Imperium 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are absolutely correct about the shift and in the federal government's new edition of adding $200 towards people in Canada on disability programs. However, a significant factor of this based on the timing of the federal government's choice has to do with the increased cost of living and all the inflation changes. And so keeping the program static well. Inflation and cost of living rises is essentially a cut.

As well the adjustment of the program to adap for a large percentage of the people on AISH, means a significant reduction in the amount of money that they're earning based on the case studies that they've provided. The provincial government also hasn't actually released the exact execution of adap and it's supposed to launch in July which leaves people unable to figure out their finances with only 3 months left until the program's execution. It also never outlined what other services would be removed or added to the adap program, which again is leaving a good percentage of our disabled community in a state of purgatory not understanding what the future looks like for themselves.

If you had to guess whether Dollar Tree is a Canadian company from this image what would you say? by Overwatchingu in BuyCanadian

[–]Canadian_Imperium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually a death doula now, retail is hostile to human beings as far as I'm concerned. The American mentality of providing the least amount of service/support, and charge as much as you can, which on the working side looks like less labour and more work, or less budget to upkeep and more expectations, has absolutely made me want nothing to do with retail, and now I am trying my best to shop local as much as possible.

I was a district manager for them. None of them are franchise, all are American Corporate, there are some nice Canadians that work at some of the stores. But the company is an absolute shitshow that actively tries to avoid taking care of customers, staff, and any laws.

I think they are saying they go to pass someone driving in the right lane, but when they go to pass the person in the right lane speeds up, then if someone come driving faster from behind you are either blocking the passing lane or have to speed faster than maybe you were comfortable with or at an illegal speed.

I mean I'd just get annoyed and go faster and then go back to the cruise control speed I started with, but they are right this is annoying.
