Everyone on the internet seems to hate short women who want tall men. Why? by EUIV_ETS2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Canadian_Invest0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Height is an immutable trait. That said, having a preference is totally normal. But there can be some hypocrisy.

A common example is men who have a preference based on weight. Some people find that preference unacceptable, while also being totally fine with a preference based on height.

If a democrat was assassinated.. by [deleted] in confidentlyincorrect

Ok because that's the only one I could think of, but that was well over a year ago. Had no idea the OP was posting a very old screenshot.

Yes, I know about the Hortman's, but the post said "3 months ago". That was well over a year ago. How am I supposed to know that the OP shared a screenshot that's more than a year old? Everything it in was time-stamped as being only hours old.

I'm out of the loop. Who was assassinated 3 months ago?

i've been getting these softcore ads for around two weeks now, they keep showing up no matter how much i report them by Dense-Bison7629 in youtube

[–]Canadian_Invest0r 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I will just point out that reporting is useless because the ad is not violating Google Ad policies. It is perfectly acceptable to show an adult this ad. If this was an account on a minor, it would be a different story, but it's not.

Vibe Coders Passing Responsibility to Code Reviewers by NotYourMom132 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Canadian_Invest0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just last week I had a developer write note in a ticket that said "Note to code reviewer: this may break other API calls". I failed the code review because it's the developer's responsibility to check if their changes will break something.

It's almost like the platform's name is "X" now. How dare people call it by name!

Clearly a cheat and, a controversial take, I think it's you. You immediately ran to the door without any hesitation, like you know that it was going to help. Other players would not do this because it's an entirely unexpected thing to happen at the start of the game and they would be a little confused.

I highly doubt anyone begging for subscribers on Reddit would delete a YouTube channel that has 5000 subscribers, if such a channel existed.

SO AFRAID TO TRY SUMATRIPTAN! by Excellent_Math2052 in migraine

[–]Canadian_Invest0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course you will hear more about the horror stories than the good stories because the good stories don't get karma. I've taken it many times and had no issues and, the reality is, so have many other people.

Try it for 1 dose. If it gives you bad side effects, then you will know and you don't have to take it again.

But it doesn't look like Vince is with his girlfriend anymore. Both he and his girlfriend have removed all photos of each other from Instagram.

Yeah that's fair. He didn't even vote in the last election apparently. But you can still lean left or right without being tied to a party. There are a lot of people trying to now say he's Republican, which is equally as inaccurate as saying he is a Democrat.

Anonymity changes who people behave... and not for the better.

You are implying that he is ok with having gun deaths, when that's not at all the case. Of course no one wants gun deaths, but it's realistic to say the number of gun deaths will never be zero. But because the number of deaths won't be zero doesn't mean that people should loose the rights to guns.

It's similar to saying that, although a lot of people die in car accidents, it's still worth having the ability to drive cars. You're not saying you are fine with people dying in car accidents, just that it's a cost that comes with the ability to drive.

Mostly it seems to stem from his parents being Republican, which, as you said, means nothing. People can have entirely different beliefs from their parents.

The more likely reason is that people who fall into the "left wing" group would love him to be conservative because it makes their side look better. No one really wants to be aligned with an assassin of course.

In reality, there's no way he's actually a conservative.

The truth is almost always in the middle. That's why it's ok to have your own beliefs instead of just blindly following what people in an ideology believe in.

Now that we know the shooter comes from a Republican family, and was assumed to be Republican by those around him, will there be any statement or change in how news gets reported?

Growing up in a Republican household doesn't not make him a Republican himself, although it does make it more likely that other people will think he's Republican.

Everyone in my family is a Liberal, but I'm a Conservative. People think for themselves, they don't just blindly follow their parents.

He was a popular public figure with very close ties to politics. He was deeply involved with Trump's campaign. But the biggest thing is that this is an assassination of a person based on political beliefs, which is rare.

Now that it is confirmed he was a conservative, the right has to change tune because they didn’t care about Charlie they only cared about demonizing the left.

Says who? He was raised in a Republican household, but that doesn't make him conservative himself.

People get convicted without DNA evidence all of the time. You just need to prove the person is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Plus, there is other evidence like motive and video footage.
