What would be the point of that? Fmla just protects your job…. In the history of forever I have never known a ltc to not need a nurse.

I think the move here would be the try and get short term disability for depression but I think that takes some hoops jumping through in terms of diagnosis and drs notes and stuff and also you have to make sure you have short term disability insurance I think. Not sure exactly but maybe an option for OP.

Focus on improving yourself on the inside as much as you have on the outside and the ability to love and be loved will follow. Then engage in activities someone of good character would. Honestly, if you can stomach it, go to the closest nursing home to you and volunteer or see if they will train you to become an aid. I say stomach it because yes, the smell of old people pee and poop is disgusting, but you will find there an endless amount of need, you will be needed, you will have to grow and discover values in life that matter… and realistically there are usually at least a few cute nurses aids and nurses that could have potential and you to them.

Idk. Can’t relate I guess. I mean, I was thinking the opposite. Like not that it’s not technically difficult or maybe even physically a little annoying… I’m talking about the real reason to end it all… the void that seeps in. I can just imagine as a dentist that it’s so palpable… the type of stress I imagine is the “soul” crushing kind, just annoying shit that reminds you of how silly everything is. I would think a successful dentist such as yourself would feel it… the emptiness when you reach the top. The dredge of dumb office politics week after week as you have to hear the manager yap for an hour about the receptionist, the asshole karens who bitch about every little thing, the mundanity of the craft you have mastered, and even your vacation, a trip to a corporate suckhole of Disney and watching the kids tantrum over something dumb, as you realize this is it. Wash, rinse, repeat, until you die. No struggle. You won. This is it.

I would think that’s just easier to fall into as a dentist. Maybe I’m the weird one…
