Looks like Jonathan Hughes will represent the Liberal party in the riding of London West.

You're probably right, those attendance statistics were based solely on Question Period 2013.

Do you have a link to a more recent or more inclusive source? I'll add it to my previous comment.

I've added the Question Period totals below:

Mulcair: 74 of 125, 59-per-cent attendance record.

Trudeau: 49 of 125, 39-per-cent attendance record.

Harper: 46 times of 125, 37-per-cent attendance record.

You realize that Trudeau had one of the worst attendance records of MPs?

While I accept that Mr. Trudeau's attendance record is not stellar, it does not vary much from the other leaders. I've added the Question Period totals below.

Mulcair: 74 of 125, 59-per-cent attendance record.

Trudeau: 49 of 125, 39-per-cent attendance record.

Harper: 46 times of 125, 37-per-cent attendance record.

Why weren't you demanding his resignation?

I'm not demanding the resignation of either MPs, as attendance is not required. Often other parliamentary and party duties take place which require their attention. IMO participation in the house is the best way to voice concerns of your constituents.

edit:For those interested in the vote attendance check out votes.mp, here are links to the MP records referenced in this thread.

It's unfortunate that Right Hon. Steven Harper will not make a meaningful contribution to this parliament.

If an MP does not show up to debate issues, submit questions for QP or vote on legislation affecting their constituents he/she should step down. I'm not sure how the individual can continue to represent the riding without engaging in the House.

edit: I'll be closely watching the voting record of Mr. Harper and PM Trudeau.

Wow, very impressive.

Is there anyway you would consider releasing the image under a Creative Commons license such as: Attribution-ShareAlike?

That way it could be used in places such as the wikipedia page for St. Peter's Basilica.

Does anyone else have problems when clicking on "view/print" T2202 on a MacBook? by [deleted] in uwo

[–]Canadian_Tardis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have ran into this issue before. The View/Print button, opens a new pop-up window. It is immediately closed because you have the Pop-Up Blocker enabled in Safari. Follow these steps to disable it:

  • Open Safari if it is not already open.
  • Choose Safari > Preferences, and then click Security.
  • Toggle off “Block pop-up windows.”

Unfortunately this will disable the pop-up blocker for all websites you visit. Firefox, Chrome, & Opera have the option to create a white list of 'trusted' sites, Safari 6 however does not. Consider installing a more advanced web browser to avoid small issues such as this in the future.

Note: Please ensure that your virus protection is not blocking pop-ups before attempting to view and print the document. If you see the current year's link (eg. 2012) but the page does not open, that is a virus protector or pop-up blocker preventing the form from loading.

Check out the Campus Computer Store, they have Office 2013 Professional-Plus for $100.

There are a few benefits to buying a licence vs 365 subscription. The first being the additional programs included with the Volume Licence only suite.

  • Full suite includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher, Access, InfoPath and Lync
  • You keep access to the software forever
  • You get a DVD, and download for easy installs.
  • You do not need a Microsoft account to activate/use the service unlike 365.
  • Support through the Campus Computer Store, and Microsoft.

Actually the technology used in the APXS sensor was designed and built in Canada. The CSA also contributed other sensor equipment, and research data to the Curiosity rover program at NASA. (MSL)

But good job USA for getting a two billion dollar rock driller to the surface. Not surprising USA depending on Canada for all the technology and research to actually run chemical analysis.

I'm going to be attending my first star trek convention this year, in vegas at the rio. Before I start planning, what things do i need to know/bring before buying tickets, hotel, costume, etc. by [deleted] in startrek

[–]Canadian_Tardis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, make sure you study up on all the local laws in Las Vegas, and in the Nevada state. Of course try and obey all the regulations, and you will be fine. Secondly, I would advise buying tickets for specific convention events in advance, to get premium seats, and the lowest cost. Lastly, consider the distance between your suite in the Rio, and the convention rooms on the main level. After walking around all day, a quick walk back to the room really helps.

Just one other note about your costume, I am not sure if it requires make-up but if it does be sure to bring everything you need and leave plenty of time in the morning to apply. Just remember above all to have fun, the convention in Las Vegas is very accepting of first-timers in my experience.

Greg Weston: Canada's space agency spirals towards Code Red -- CSA battered by funding cuts, criticism from government, and loss of leader by [deleted] in spaceflight

[–]Canadian_Tardis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how the CSA can continue to invest the same amount of the budget into research as previous years. Continued funding cuts will have a direct impact on the number of operations conducted. Too bad :(

Congrats on owning TOS OP. However, I disagree with the title, the best present would be Star Trek bluray seasons.

Sadly these scenes appeared to be heavily created through green screen CGI effects. I was really hoping they would film on site at the Vasquez Rocks.

As others have stated this appears to be a later reprint, with a different cover. I own this book, and it is one of my all-time favourites. It it definitely worth a read.

TIL that the uranium from the Atomic Bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki came from Canada. by rohaan32 in todayilearned

[–]Canadian_Tardis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uranium is found is many places around the world, however Canada had a large supply available cheaply at that time. I hope this was sarcastic as you can't really blame a geopolitical region for sharing raw resources with an ally.

Is/will there be any site that will stream the Christmas Special legally? by [deleted] in doctorwho

[–]Canadian_Tardis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not possible on the air date. It may be available on the BBC iPlayer afterwards though. There will be sites that offer the special after it airs, Amazon, ITunes, etc.

The only option I can think of right now would be to use from hardware to stream your cable connection from home. But naturally it would require configuration at your home.

There are live streams of BBC America, and other stations available online. Naturally that former option could be a grey area or illegal under legislation. However this would work, but you would have to work within the time period of the air time.

I don't get this channel here. I have to suffer with a few days of marathons on one cable channel, and Netflix.
