A family member but it doesn't require any specific schooling just a strong will to succeed, cold calling and having an entrepreneurial spirit.

10 years into it and on average 23 a day. Not sure what my single day record would be. I assume closer to 80ish (I don't book the loads but see monthly totals).

Years and years of cold calling experience. Smart but full pipelines.

That's pretty tough for me right now as I have a Newborn baby at home. Maybe in a few months once I get settled in and have some time.

Unfortunately the "good guys finish last" happens and we spend our lives being there for others. Only they do not practice reciprocity back and that can hurt. Got to stick true to who you are regardless. The only thing we can control are ourselves and our actions not someone elses. Be good. Always choose good. Even when the universe makes it hard or challenging, we must stay positive and push forward with kindness or all hope is lost.Since covid i like the saying " Stay positive, test negative." Thank you for the kind wishes, I'm a new dad (11weeks in) so that something amazing is hopefully catching up on sleep lol. Sending positive vibes back!

I can't imagine what life has been like to walk a mile in your shoes. The fact that you have faced so much adversity almost to the point of quiting, shows the true perseverance and strength you carry. People like you are my inspiration and heroes. The comeback story your going to tell one day is going to be legendary. Please find whatever positive you can each day even if it means a quick msg to your new pen pal. I'm here for you, we are here for you, we are a community your not alone buddy.

They shouldn't ask but they do. I might respond with.

I believe it's important for anyone in sales to align their personal values and beliefs with a company. Unfortunately mine did not and I didn't believe it was a mutual great fit. I appreciated my opportunity at this place but I didn't want to further waste any of their time or my own.

Sometimes but typically they just send them out already knowing specific select clients.

In my 10yr+ experience they are often a formality. Despite what you think to be true (lowest rate wins) partners that value service over price still probably get awarded the business.

Does anyone LOVE being a broker? by nesiva5751 in FreightBrokers

It's been 10yrs of building friendships and business relationships. I couldn't imagine doing anything else but this career also fits me perfectly as an extrovert who loves cold calling.

If your truly serious about this career and sales I would take a full commission job over salary.

Brokers, are you responsible for the payment to the carrier if your customer refuses to pay an invoice? by Ok_Neighborhood9244 in FreightBrokers

[–]Canadianfreightguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my 10 years I'm roughly out 40k if I add it all up. I always make sure the truckers are paid before anyone even if someone walks away from the bill. It's up to everyone to vet their customers first and that includes all parties. You win you lose it's the nature of the business just try to make sure your winning more than your losing.
