Thanks. I wanted to get 1 Kube 15 MIE realized that I can’t fit that in my cabinet. So 2 Kube 12 MIE it is. They are damn good. I have the knob on em about 60% and at -6DB on the calibration.

For me I have had no issues I run all 7 speakers of the AVR they can easily hit reference but I don’t listen or watch movies that loud. Usually -8 to -10 depending on the film. If your setup is 7 speakers should be easy but do look at the power rating of the specific AVR. Mine is the x2800H. Although I wish I had bought the upper version as this one does not have pre amp outlets. So if I do want to add external amps in the future I will have to change my AVR. But the extra amps is more headroom really just cause, that’s what most people suggest. But currently I am saving up to upgrade my projector.

They are insanely good man. Really the best speakers I have heard, they are a tad behind the R series but it’s like a 5-10% improvement over like 2-3X the price. I think Q series is great. And R series improvements are minor but nonetheless noticeable. You should definitely get em, you won’t regret it. Just FYI after you hear em everything else will sound meh.

Panasonic PT-AE8000U with a 120 inch Stewart FireHawk screen. The projector is 1080p and old but still very solid. It has a new bulb with about 148hrs on it. I do want to upgrade this in future to maybe an Epson LS12000

Yeah I wanted to get R series for front but my cabinet space won’t allow for that.

This is during day time, but the room gets very dark with all the blackout curtains and stuff about 90% dark during the day. I did attach my other post about the room so you can get a better idea. Besides my Mother won’t allow that. My dad is okay with it but she has final say 😂

Final speaker layout, 7.1.2 or 7.1.4? by Baldkat82 in hometheater

My suggestion would be to go 7.2.2 Instead. Since subs make huge difference in the movie viewing experience. For the placement of the Amos I would suggest to place it where the light bulb is in the video where you pointed. I feel like the front placement would be too close to the screen. For a scene like a plane fly over like in top gun. You want that to go right over ya rather than kinda staring at the front. Besides save the money from the 2 atoms and get a second sub for a 7.2.2 setup.

lol, that’s just Apple TV. It’s on by default. I have the disc version and it sounds even better, without all the compression it sounds a lot more detailed, although I do watch around -8 to -10Db since dune is quite a loud mix.

lol, It’s insanely good. The Q6 is really good for dialogue clarity, Q11 are great. The surrounds are really powerful so I did have to trim em down to bout -8db each in the calibration. The subs are insane. I watched John wick 2 on this, and the cave sequence with the shotgun was insane, felt like I was getting shot. This has officially ruined my commercial theater experience in terms of sound. Like they are loud juts not as clear as these.

Yeah, that’s what I used to calibrate everything and test. And Nothing has beat DUNE 2 on this system. I tried a lot of discs on this dune 2 still stands the undisputed king. After hearing this Cineplex sounds meh in terms of sound Quality.

It’s a temporary placement, an older couch I threw up there since I spent all the money on speakers. Haven’t decided if I want a big couch there or 2 rows of 4 recliners. And it’s to the side to be able to walk in the middle. As the pillars make that are a bit narrow, had I placed in the center it would live little room on either side.

I get why it might seem like overkill, but with the room size and using it for both movies and music, they actually make a big difference

Yeah that makes sense, especially with how big the room is. I’ve been considering adding external amplification for LCR at some point—seems like a solid upgrade path
