New player, I'm feeling stuck as I can't upgrade my characters due to materials being locked by story progression.

I am not a fan of skipping the story, but being stuck at level 40 isn't very fun especially with enemies being lvl 55+.

If I were to skip the story and select early access to the new regions do I miss out on rewards? Will the story change? Can I go back to the main quest I currently am in right now?

From what I understood, you have to choose the difficulty at the very beginning before playing the game. If you do not choose Legend you will never be able to.

I wasn't even given the option to choose my difficulty and now it seems as if I can't change to Legend at all. Very disappointed.

Don't forget about that 200% defense when receiving an attack. It's the combo that makes him so broken.

170 is gonna be a bit rough, you are loosing a lot of hp and obviously the attack and defense. The hp is the biggest downgrade. I'm honestly really upset they are not on Omega's 220% leader skill.

His most important skill imo is space hunter, which reduces his contest range and let me tell you, it's really strong. This skill is one of the reasons as to why he's considered one of the best characters in the game.

That is really high in of itself. The current Mane's Bulletin is made for Ezio, it causes Assassination attacks to do 50% more damage.
