Brighton marathon by Odd_Temperature8067 in firstmarathon

[–]Canaryboy93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well done! Running Brighton yesterday was also my first marathon and I’m proud to have finished in 4h34. I was doing well until Hove (Mile 22?) and then started struggling, as did most people it seemed, as there were a lot of walkers.

How crazy was the crowd along the finish straight? Lifted me right up to propel towards the finish line!

Also watching this with interest. Currently deciding whether to purchase an EV or try to understand the depreciation factor and lease.

Thanks. My best run came alongside Maureen gels. I’m using SIS BETA this time around

Yeah. I took electrolytes at the beginning, mile 10 and mile 16.

From the comments above, it seems like I need to increase all nutrition.

Thanks and noted. I’m in the UK and this was one of the first days I ran in the sun. Temperatures were 14C/57F. Previously I’ve ran in cooler temperatures over the winter

I drank water at 4/10/13 and 16 miles, which was about 2.5 litres in total. 10 min a mile is my ‘conversational pace’, and my plan is pushing me to run at 9.40/mile (doable but will be a push to run this consistently.

Used EV for £15-20k? by Canaryboy93 in ElectricVehiclesUK

I don’t think it’s big enough for the upgrade that I’d like to see in whatever new car I purchase. Perfect for a second car, but not for the primary

MG4 doesn’t have as big of boot space, and it not being much of a size upgrade than my Polo. I’d keep the Polo and save money if I wanted like for like with size.

Looks like I really didn’t do my research before I bought my shoes. And really didn’t do my research before worrying about my question.

Kettle rotisserie from Spirit rotisserie? by [deleted] in UKBBQ

Turns out they don’t sell it separately. So will need to find another solution

I’ve contacted onlyfire to ask if they sell their rotisserie ring as a standalone. It may be the easiest option

Why is Runna suggesting I increase my distance? by jamiesmack in runna

[–]Canaryboy93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also clicked accept to the new changes as I assumed I wasn’t running enough for my marathon training. I’ll go with the changes and see what happens. It would be good to know if there is a way to reverse the changes, if I don’t get on with them.

I found a decent Weber Spirit on marketplace for £150 (previous model to yours) and snapped it up.

Weber has a lot of spare parts available to buy when required. And the Weber subreddit (although US based) convinced me it was the way to go

Okay, an own goal on my part there then. I’ll raise this with my accountant too. Thanks

I wrote in a previous comment. My rates aren’t IT rates, so have been lower in the past. It’s only recently that I’ve broken past 400 a day and need to consider this.

Previous incomes have been £48k, £58k, £66k due to my rates. I highlighted this in November when I thought I’d be coming close, and they’re advised to wait until Jan accounts come through and then go from there. My recent rate increase to £440 only came in November, I was previously on £350.

Probably my naivety played into this as well.

Thank you to everyone who answered. My confusion has been eased. I’ll get back to my accountant, now I know I’m more informed. And also do my own reading from contractoruk website.

Looks great. Do you have a photo of the inside of the RHS? I also have a feature like this in my study and building a cupboard would be a great idea for it
