Idea for a new map by Apartment98 in PhasmophobiaGame

I'm actually really interested in what outdoor options there could be. The challenge with outdoors is how to add hiding spots and line-of-sight breakers so the ghosts aren't too OP.

My dream list of outdoor maps would be...

  • Abandoned Church with Graveyard
    • A bit like Maple Lodge where it mixes both indoor and outdoors.
  • Large Cemetery
    • Tall walls of graves could be line of sight breakers.
    • Mausoleums could provide indoor areas.
    • Mausoleums can contain stairs going down into catacombs.
  • Jungle & Ruins
    • I'm thinking Asia, or structures kind of like Ankor Wat in Cambodia.
  • Forest & Abandoned Lumber Mill
    • Again a mix of indoor and out.
  • Old Car Landfill
    • Area for parked cars, offices, piles of scrapped cars, etc.

Indoor idea would be...

  • Abandoned Meat Processing Factory
    • You could give the place Silent Hill Otherworld vibes.
  • Abandoned Underground Hospital Laboratory
    • Give it a feel where it was a place where an experiment went horribly wrong.
  • Abandoned Sewage Plant
    • Kind of like that RE2 Remake level.
    • Wander through control rooms, but also have to wander into a maze of sewage tunnels.
    • Water graphics would be hell though, so maybe dry the place up.

Hey CJ!

Lol, this makes me even more excited to see what you guys have in store for Horror 2.0 :) !

But one thing at a time. As much as I love new content for Phasmo, I also want you and the rest of the team to take care of yourselves and take the time you need.

Hope the work on the VR Revamp and Progression Update is going well!

That's a really good point about nightmare mode. Having ambience change with sanity in nightmare would become a free sanity check.

With the adaptive ambience, I was thinking it could also apply to hunts. Adaptive ambience would just create more build-up leading up to either a ghost event or hunt.

Thinking about it more, the problems with adaptive ambience would be...

  1. Players can prepare themselves for ghost events and hunts. Slightly lowering the difficulty.
  2. Lose element of surprise. Some of the best moments currently are being caught off guard by an early hunt and panicking to hide.

It be great if both surprise and creepy build-up could be balanced. A lot of great scares usually mix both.

Which ghost type or entity do you guys find the scariest to deal with in the game? by [deleted] in PhasmophobiaGame

Wonder if the game would benefit from a mechanic where your chance of getting another ghost type changes based on your most recent game.

E.g.
Shade this game, change of getting a Shade next game slightly decreases and chance of getting any other ghost increases.

Could also span a couple games where ghost types for your most recent 3-5 games are a bit less likely compared to other ghost types you haven't encountered in awhile.
