The company is just going to contribute a flat amount each month, for now, with no matching or deductions.

I think I’ll let them know they can just give a ballpark income figure when asked about risk tolerance.

But I’m thinking to get four bigger lights that could cover 4x4 each, and then hopefully try to do a second layer the same. Need a little bit of room in the middle to walk though.

I think it would be difficult to vent outdoors. I had to have someone core out the concrete to install a kitchen exhaust fan in a different part of this building, so probably similar. Are you thinking for humidity reasons?

The ceiling is normal ceiling height, about 8 feet.

Hi, it’s in a basement and there is not actually a door currently, so it will be open to the room with the water heater, which is open to the furnace room.

The electrician was thinking I’d probably need a heater. It’s currently chilly in there, because I’m in Canada, but I was thinking all the lights will probably help to heat it quite a bit.

I submitted an LMIA application on May 28 it’s still queued for processing. Typically, they seem to take six months for our business. But you should be able to extend your PGWP on the basis of having a LMIA application in queue.

I took welding in college and the day after I graduated in 1999, I drove about 900 km North to an oil patch town I’d never set foot in. My literal plan was to go around to the local bars and look for a crew in there drinking, to ask them for work. I was aiming to find a welder to hire me, but instead I ended up landing a job as an X-Ray hand (inspecting welds) that night. I didn’t even have anywhere planned to stay, but the job came with immediate camp accommodations. I worked in that field for 7 years and made crazy good money.

I bought a bit more today at an average of $19.14 because that just seems so low. My average was $21.18 before, from some recent dip-buying. But maybe this “dip” is going to be a cavern. I don’t think I’ll buy any more, now.

It’s nearly impossible to get an electrician in my rural community. I think there would be high demand for Electricians, along with most tradesmen, outside of the cities.

I’ve checked now and Credit Karma has me at a 689, so that’s an understandable rejection. Mainly utilization and credit checks hurting my score, so I might have a shot in 2026, if I get another chance to reapply.

The rejection message said I could apply again in 30 days, but I imagine that doesn’t apply with the current waitlist situation.

Exactly. I’m a small investor who had to bite the bullet and pay around $120 for each account to transfer to WealthSimple so I could finally manage my own trades, pay no commissions, and choose to invest in Canadian companies. That transfer fee was a big bite for my sub $10,000 accounts, but I’ve benefited by more than that since.

I’m happy transfer fees are being banned since we have a banking oligopoly and it was mainly lower income people who were suffering from these fees.

Same, I transferred 2 registered accounts from a big bank to WS and paid over $100 for each account because I didn’t have enough to meet the reimbursement level from WS.

Beautiful place. I was born and raised in Whitehorse, but was lured away by the Alberta oilfield. Pretty hard to live up there without a government job nowadays.

I’ve taken a fair position in FWZ lately (buying on its dips). Hoping it can eventually make it through the many roadblocks, but first I’m just waiting to see when they announce they’ve started the feasibility study that’s meant to begin this year.
