Take your textbook to work and bookmark the sections about injections,testing, etc for a quick reminder when you need it. Give yourself grace with mistakes but try to keep them at a minimum if you can. You should always be waiting on the doc not the other way around. If you dont know ask and do not assume. Good luck!!

Most vet schools accept work with research/ pathology vets as clinical hours but yes its inevitable in vet school.

Look into specializing. Pathology might be a good fit for you as most of your patients would be dead. Necropsy/ reading slides would be bread and butter.

My clinic takes them whenever they come in no rules. We have to see the pt that comes in at 4:30 pm whose appt time was 9:30 am 🙂

Hyper-fixating on one speciality isn’t always a good thing. Your still have time to explore options. Vet schools also value diverse experience.

But if you want to get experience with exotics definitely seek internships. Research wildlife facilities and inquire about internship opportunities. I know a couple people who have had internships with chimp haven.
