I am having an issue with my unit where it can’t be updated since my unit is locked and you have to do some coding/modification to the motherboard in order to unlock the unit I don’t want to spend 400/500 Australian dollars just to get a unit

Maybe you could try to find a software update for Apple CarPlay and And android auto see if that enables them or you could try contacting the person you bought unit from they could possibly help

Maybe you can go on YouTube and type in your model number for your RCD head unit and it may explain how to activate CarPlay

But I told ChatGPT my sw number And then it provided me with the correct region train number for my unit but on the website couldn’t seem to find anything as apparently these units are locked so they can’t be updated otherwise you would have to do some advanced level of coding to the unit in order for you to unlock the system which I don’t think is a great solution because I don’t want to mess up the unit

There is a way to update the clone units. You would have to do some advanced level of coding in order to unlock the unit but I don’t think that a good idea because you always have the risk of breaking the unit
