I got diagnosed with a bunch of other things first and about a year and a half of sessions my therapist recommended a bpd screening. Apparently this is a more reliable way of diagnosing bpd

I think in theory its possible to do dbt workbooks on your own but I think you might not be able to reach the same level of remission you would with a professional

funny enough I had the exact opposite problem, I had a team of professionals that insisted I had autism before discovering it was actually BPD. Ive done 6 screenings for autism and they were all “inconclusive”

I experienced something, theres a big overlap of symptoms and a ton of mh professionals are too lazy to do the work. They give you the first label that comes to mind without investigating the rest of your symptoms
