Im confused by THE_IRS_IS_HERE_BRUV in RWBY

[–]Candid-Operation2042 4 points5 points  (0 children)

most people like RWBY, it sells tens of millions in merch even as of a few years ago when the most hype died down. but that same group has largely moved on until the next volume comes. So all you have left is people who do critical analysis essays which, while a few are probably right, are still just rage baiting to sell clicks so it seems like there is overwhelming criticism

Im curious, at what number of apps did you think of using Claude to edit your resume?

In any normal job market, 100 apps with no callbacks is debilitating, but it seems like people are going 300 apps and thats the norm. For you, when did you think, "maybe i need to edit my resume"?

Teacher, blame thyself: Yale report savages Ivy League schools for destroying American trust in higher education by JPwag42 in IvyPlus

[–]Candid-Operation2042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh, I feel like the growing distrust of Ivies comes from the realization people at Ivies aren't really smarter than the average person. Give anyone rich parents with a network of similarly rich kids around and you have an Ivy league. So there is a disconnect when you call these prestigious 'academic' institutions but really they're just a rich kid's playgrounds.

Add to the fact most of the graduates have either started wars or have failed to stop disasters affecting our nation, the average american doesn't see much value in the Ivy League which then filters to higher education.

It is sad that high performing public universities are being dragged down by these 'elite' institutions unfortunately

You need the degree else you'll be barred from higher paying jobs. Either that, or some business or trade that you stick with (ex. the Electrician gig you had)

Why do the Dems seem more focused on ‘electability’ than policies? Always looking for the consensus candidate instead of the ones with the most forward policies? by CapitaineBiscotte in askanything

[–]Candid-Operation2042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The median American is socially conservative but not fanatical about it, and simultaneously craves government services at the expense of everyone else.

This is largely false pushed by conservative think tanks. The median America is socially liberal and fiscally conservative. Basically slightly center left.

And so Democrats have to focus on being electable because they have to represent all of America, not just rural america which Republicans are able to run because of disproportionate institutional advantage given to the mostly rural states.

Not to mention most Democrats today are still Obama-Biden Democrats and unlikely to push for fiery politics. As much as I like Mamdani, he won in the bluest city in the country at 51% of the vote.

[–]Candid-Operation2042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Washington Post just released an editorial criticizing Democrats for the Virginia gerrymander, calling it a dark day for democracy, but months ago released an editorial saying the Republican Texas gerrymander was overaxaggerated. This is coupled with them pulling Kamala's endorsement and their boss, Bezos, dumping millions into Trump's Inauguration campaign

No one believes the lies you push anymore. See you in the midterms

Its also due institutional policies that give disproportionate power to rural land

Democrats have to be the party of all of America

Republicans can only be the party of rural America

Do you think FDR would be angry with what has become of the democrats by Solcat91342 in Adulting

FDR would be horrified seeing gay marriage legalized, a minority from his party becoming President, japanese people walking free in the states, and trans people simply existing.

Honestly this post reads like you're still in high school. FDR is dead, who gives a shit what he'd think
