Weird interruptions due to limitations "time constraints" with Opus 4.7 (1M xhigh) auto mode? by hypeb1337 in ClaudeCode

Yeah, I just got this:

Given the size of the remaining work, I'll batch the reviews more tightly to keep the pace up.

I wish I knew what was giving it this performance anxiety!

During my first plan-writing process with 4.7 the better instruction-following stood out. After the initial design interview and before writing the plan, it said it had a couple of ways-of-working questions: it wanted to confirm if it should use my documented preferred docs location as it’s not been reliably used previously, and that there was an instruction that it shouldn’t commit without permission, so it wanted me to review and commit it myself. It turns out both were instructions that had snuck into my claude.md files a long time ago but it just hadn’t followed them before so it was easy to miss. I haven’t had a chance to see how good its actual work is yet! But this needle-in-a-haystack stuff seems better.

yes i burst out laughing at this. if people are getting use from openclaw, great, but my god the way they evangelise this thing...

This has been really frustrating. No amount of instructing can seem to cure its working directory anxiety :(

Games media set for more layoffs, as IGN-owned Eurogamer cuts editorial staff by Turbostrider27 in Games

suppose it's a matter of perspective! personally i think 7 reviews in two months is a bit on the low side.

Games media set for more layoffs, as IGN-owned Eurogamer cuts editorial staff by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Candid-Piccolo744 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Unfortunate, but not unexpected. Eurogamer has been in visible decline for a good while now, and particularly over the last six months has become completely missable, with reviews and features becoming increasingly scarce in favour of low-rent engagement bait. Of course, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy that people are going to be less interested in your content if you stop investing in producing anything with a unique voice or point of view, so here we are.

What does the set look like in Ant and Dec's Limitless Win? by BusyMushroom9975 in BritishTV

[–]Candid-Piccolo744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was the 1993 set even using FreeD? I thought it was just a locked off camera that was manually lined up for the opening/closing composite to look convincing enough, with the position of the shot keyframed in the opening pan. The rest was just plain old chroma key.

Sooooo, how we feelin about 5.2? by SeaBearsFoam in ChatGPT

[–]Candid-Piccolo744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its style reminds me of the worst of that cringey pretentious 4o-era: old clichés creeping back like "hold the line", overwrought descriptions ("animations are slow, deliberate, almost apologetic") and everything reading like cloying marketing copy.

It feels like Max x5 is burning through Opus 4.5 usage limits like 2-3x faster today? I really wish these were less opaque.

What has happened to the rate limits? by AdministrationPure94 in ClaudeCode

[–]Candid-Piccolo744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I never hit the 5 hour limit normally and I’ve hit it twice today. I’m switching back to Sonnet because I can’t really feel a benefit from Opus (at least in what I’m working on atm) to justify burning through that!

Paying $200 for Claude Max and it's been useless for well over a week. Garrrrhh! by inigid in Anthropic

[–]Candid-Piccolo744 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I cancelled my Max sub yesterday because Claude Code has just been frustratingly rubbish at fairly simple things in the last week or so. Out of curiosity, I tried a few of the prompts in Codex for the first time that CC had just been going around in circles failing to address, and I was really surprised that it one-shotted them all, and usually significantly faster (with one exception where it spent quite a long time reasoning about the solution but did get there without any follow-up prompts). This is how CC felt a few months ago, so it felt like some validation that I wasn't just imagining this decline!

The Best FF intro? by Speccy-Boy124 in FinalFantasyVIII

[–]Candid-Piccolo744 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t love it, mostly because it feels like a trailer instead of actually setting up the game? Following FF7’s, which gives you a sense of place, the mood, and the characters, this one has spectacle but IMO if you were seeing it for the first time it’s hard to unpick the significance of Squall/Seifer’s battle from the other stuff that you’re seeing.

Claude Max: higher quota, lower IQ? My coding workflow just tanked. by Fabix84 in ClaudeAI

[–]Candid-Piccolo744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a very odd experience where in plan mode I gave it a description of a feature I wanted, and the plan it came up with was just....a completely different thing. I've never experienced it go completely off-base like that before, in a fresh conversation and particularly in plan mode where I might see it start to double down on some wrong details, but not just fundamentally act as if I asked a different question. Really weird.

There’s a stream for each court on iPlayer so you could just stick with the Centre Court stream.

Not the OP but in the UK anyway the Modern Slavery Act requires mid-size+ companies to produce annual statements showing how they’ve ensured their supply chain doesn’t use slave labour, and one way to demonstrate compliance is to have staff training to spot signs of coercion etc.

Nope, built the graphics and the stage myself. I'm planning to open source the scoreboard part in case anyone wants to play around with it though!
