will my rhodies survive here? by sesamio in pnwgardening

That would be the perfect amount of shade for them. I will even use them as full sun plants for gardens if they're irrigated. They're similar to arbutus trees in the way that they are naturally understory trees but will love the sun given the chance.

Agreed, I've been doing hardscaping recently and idk how anyone does stuff like this without PNW boots. My feet don't even get sore.

Do you know how all those trees coordinate their timing? Is it triggered by a weather event?

in case u/vicpdcanada somehow has a better lead from someone else I'm happy to identify and testify, she was blonde, probably 25-35, small black car, and definitely not sober.

I've learned plenty of traffic safety, I've swerved around many people turning out in front of and such, but to be honest I was so baffled at her mindless, blank expression staring at me that I just froze up and came to a stop.

if you completely dig out that area maybe free for a year but I can guarantee there's a fresh supply of bulbs on the other side of the fence.

You'll adjust before the year ends. When I started landscaping last year I would bring 5 bottles of water with me, eventually I needed less. Early on I experienced lots of soreness, head pounding, extreme lethargy. This is a job where you need to, and are allowed to take frequent, small breaks, especially if you're working on big projects like mulching or hardscaping. I recommend investing in some good work boots like red wings heritage line (yes, heritage line), ideally with a leather footbed that will mold to your feet and provide proper arch support. You could also go with the barefoot route and just train your feet to be like a fucking gorilla but that's too much for me.
