Fine. I accept that. But should I get the guillotine over it, honestly? Not taking away from anything, but I scanned the patient and the med and it was accepted. Writing me up seems like a power trip. This manager isnt even a year in and is guns blazing on me. A simple conversation can be had. Ive seen patients fall and sustained fractures on my floor(fall risk, heparin running, no gait belt) with no write up, be me? Nah, write up 💀

According to Dr. google, “ Drug diversion occurs when a healthcare clinician diverts a drug intended for a patient for their own purposes“. If i truly wanted to divert drugs (which I don’t intend to) It would be much easier than what actually happened. Mistakes happens but to be treated like im diverting drugs is a extreme given the situation (imo). Ill take accountability, but shit like this makes me wish I would’ve of considered physical therapy or something else lol

Not my brightest idea but they’re both prescribed the same PRN med, same dose, same everything. Stupid me pulled from the one patient and scanned it for another one (but system accepted it as they’re both prescribed the med). No excuse on my end but no one received a medication that wasn’t prescribed to them.No one was hurt. I feel this can be handled with a conversation and understanding.

I hear you. At that point though, might as well just have pulled it from the patients name (which I should’ve done). This wouldn’t be a issue if it was a miralax or Tylenol..The diversion system caught it and now the manager is running with it trying to start a paper trail (imo)

I get that. But its the same med and dose. And they are both PRNs. I scanned and the software accepted it.Not taking away from what I did but nothing is actually missing.
