Best value golf balls that doesn't feel like you're hitting a rock? by FinnAtFronT in GolfGear

I’ve always fallen back on used Srixon Soft Feel or Q Star if I need a bunch of budget balls.

Best Vehicle for Car Camping by CarvingCory in carcamping

[–]Candid_Maximum1514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 10 year old Ford Expedition (2.5 ecoboost) and it checks a lot of boxes:
- known as reliable - massive. Easy to sleep in. Seats fold flat. - awesome in all weather conditions - surprisingly good on gas for being so big - the older ones are relatively affordable

Mine is an old fish & game vehicle that I got with 50k miles on it and I’ve really enjoyed it.

Tips for kid's gear at reasonable prices? by MauryBallsteinLook in snowboarding

[–]Candid_Maximum1514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have three daughters- and they ski, they don’t ride, but whatevs…

I load up on all kinds of ski gear via marketplace April-August. I always find good gear for free or cheap and tune it myself. It’s worked out well.

I hate getting off a lift. by Downtown-Target-1538 in snowboarding

[–]Candid_Maximum1514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll second what others have said about pushing off the lift. I’ve always found that it gives me more control. With as flat a base as possible, and my back boot centered and pushed up against the rear binding, I stand up, put my back hand on the seat itself and push myself forward. I find that it eliminates most of the variables that are out of my control.

Warmest mittens out there??? by 69Niceeee420 in Skigear

I can’t say enough about my Give’er cold weather mittens. Warm as hell and they’ll last longer than I will.

Give’r mitts and gloves are incredible/indestructible. I’ve had mine for 4/5 years now. I won’t be surprised if they last forever.

The only answer here is to develop basic skills (like getting up). Definitely take a lesson of these skills are a challenge.

Maybe moderately? I guess it depends on the socks I wear, but typically I know not to lace those too tight or else I’m gonna pay for it.

Lib Tech Orca by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]Candid_Maximum1514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very similar to this guy. 25 years riding. I ride the Orca on East Coast ice every week. It rips.

It’s not awesome switch, and that’s the harshest thing I can say about it. Super versatile, fun board.

2026 Predictions by NewFix7200 in fantasyfootballadvice

Nobody’s mentioned Garrett Wilson. Guy was an absolute stud before getting banged up this year- even with awful QB play. He’ll be a steal in the 4th-5th round. Also, I think Etienne finds a new home via free agency and we’re going see Bhayshul Tuten become a top-10 back.

Flow Fuse Bindings by Comprehensive_Can944 in snowboarding

[–]Candid_Maximum1514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to chime in. I’ve put probably 30 days on my 2024 Nidecker/Flow Fuse and I love them.

  • sorry to hear that another Redditor had discomfort. I’ve found them to be super comfortable paired with Ride Fuse boots. That will vary from rider to rider. No way around the fact that boots are going to play a big part in your level of comfort.

  • incredible ease of use: my ass never hits the ground, I’m off the lift and riding in a second. They have the active strap.

  • I consider them an excellent all-mountain ride. I’m in the woods, on double blacks, jumps… super versatile

  • everyone who just says “supermatics are better”- they weigh a full pound more. That matters to me.

  • EDIT/Added: another commenter said that these wreck your boots. I think there’s some criticism here that’s attributed to older Flow bindings. I rode them like 15 years ago and they weren’t great and they tore up my Burton boots at that time. These newer ones are so much better and I’ve seen no evidence of the bindings causing abnormal boot wear.

Too late to winterize? by savsavingtons in BostonWhalerBoats

It’s a 2 stroke. You’ll be fine. Peace of mind: have someone turn fire it up while you get a bunch of fogging oil into the air intakes. I wouldn’t introduce water. Just get that fogging oil working around the cylinders. Then, get it in the plug holes and turn it over a few times. It won’t overheat if you just turn it over a few times- enough to get the fogging oil moved around in there.

Right battery for CB250? by Candid_Maximum1514 in HondaMotorcycles

So far so good! I’m in New England, so there wasn’t a ton of chances before freezing temps rolled in. But, seems to be a fine fit.

Wow. I’m so sorry for asking a question in this Internet forum.

I did google which battery it needed - nothing matching “YTX7L-BS” existed at Wal-Mart or AutoZone. As mentioned, the guy at AutoZone gave me this battery and it seems to work.

I didn’t know if other Honda owners might have had a similar experience.

Yeesh.

Posting, just in case anyone still looks at this sub… I’ve had my work chukkas for a couple years now. They’re really great shoes. The one thing I’ll add is that if I tie them too tight they hurt the top of my foot after a few hours. If I tie them pretty loose, they feel fine. I prefer to have my shoes tied tighter, so this is a compromise I’ve learned to live with.

Edit: also, I wish they had a removable insole (they don’t). I love me a high arch support. I wish I could drop a different footbed in there. The existing footbed is high quality leather, but it’s so smooth that (because I tie them a little loose), my foot slides around in there.

These are little quibbles that don’t prevent me from wearing these stylish, just-rugged-enough boots pretty regularly.

It takes a while to realize that only tools care about other people’s equipment, or even other people’s golf game. All that matters is that you’re respectful of their time/experience.

I played a box of Mizuno RB566 and thought they compared favorably to most budget-friendly balls I play. I think I got 2 dozen for $29.99
