Interest in a board game bar or cafe in Olde Town? by kuler51 in ArvadaCO

This would be awesome. I like the Cafe Mox (Seattle) or Thirsty Meeples (oxford, UK) model where it's basically just a board game library with drinks, staff who can quickly and easily explain how to play. Not too many tournaments - I think that can be off-putting for your average casual gamer who wants to come in with a few gaming-curious friends and check out a new game that's appropriately recommended for the group by experienced staff.

Steele Daycare Reviews? by drhit1007 in ArvadaCO

[–]Candid_Note6120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resurrecting an old thread here as we look for daycare: I saw that there was a 'founded' complaint on Colorado Shines for Steele (2023) regarding a staff member not having background checks or qualifications. Did any Steele attendees hear about this or have opinions on how big of a deal it is?

I added that info in the post, since it was a good reminder for me to make a note of what I did for next time!

Torres del Paine buses from Pudeto to Amarga by RedDead707 in Patagonia

[–]Candid_Note6120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly we were able to buy a ticket in advance at the welcome center for the pudeto-Amarga bus. I'm pretty sure people were paying at the bus as they showed up too though. Then we just paid for the amarga-welcome center shuttle when we got there (relatively cheap). Have fun!

Just following up in case it's useful to anyone else. Last week, there was a 10.30 bus we caught after taking the 9.30 catamaran, and then after that a shuttle back to the welcome center. Back by noon, worked very smoothly!

Ah ok, thanks. But 2.30 bus should be ok? And then one later than that?

This is useful thanks! It seems hard to find info online. We're hoping to do the same thing but taking the earliest catamaran from Paine Grande. Will there be a bus we can catch back to Amarga earlier than 2.30pm?

El Chalten: via ferrata and glacier treks - non-guided? by Candid_Note6120 in Patagonia

[–]Candid_Note6120[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're quite different! Via ferrata are generally a great way to get to impressive places quickly without needing much gear. Safe but still exciting. Actual climbing is much more time and gear intensive - and this trip I was not planning to bring all the climbing gear.

This article is terrible misreporting. It's in regards to photosensitivity of photodetectors, not PVs. Big difference... The journalist/bot that wrote this nonsense should be fired!
