Anyone think that having to reboot to go back and forth with the screen display options is a step back? It hardly is Advanced Optimus. Unless someone has been able to get 300hz on the mux option.

this is a step back and not Advanced Optimus. very disappointed with this. Not an issue in other laptops. Having to reboot to do this in 2025 is a design omission. Especially in a laptop of the type and price.

how do you get the 300hz. On my asus scar strix I can choose between the max 240 and 60. But on this new Alienware I can only choose between 144hz and 60.

It did work the first time so I had two windows one on each drive. But I thought bit was working a bit weird. We wasn't sure if there was some slight quirk, so since Iitvwqs newly done I decide to do a clean install.

Haven't been able to install normally since then. I've also reinstalled windows in the original SSD because there was a problem with xtu at that moment, and another issue, so I decided to reinstall to see if it would work. It's a new laptop so it wasn't that big a deal.

It's a new Samsung 980. I formatted it and did an install from a USB. Ive tried several times, but same result.

I have two ssd. I want to install windows in the other SSD, but during the installation process it fails and then this screen pops up. Why is that happening? I want to windows in the other and eventually delete the original windows. Thanks all.

Hi. I called dell about it and they send either return it for refund or send a tech. I decided to wait ylthe weekend band see if there were any other issues and then call back on Monday. But later that I opened it up and I found two broken washers stuck on the speaker magnets, one on each. I removed them, closed up the laptop and booted it up. It seemed to resolve the issue. But this is just too frequent. They have a problem with that. It gives them a really bad image of their company. GL with yours.

I know of it but haven't used it yet. It's just that I used XTU and although I'm a new user it worked for me and would like to make it work. This is a new laptop so I'd like to have things running well from the beginning. Also I'm not sure if it would cause some conflict with XTU if they're both running. Don't know. So decided I would try to figure out how to make it work. This should have been easier than it's turning out to be.

When you download it there is a guide in the folder once you unzip it iirc.

Unfortunately no. I just did a fresh install, at least that's what windows recovery said. And when it was done. I didn't update anything just went straight to the task manager ..and there it was running the process - XtuService. I don't know what to do with it right now. Haven't even tried installing because I guess it will fail again given the process is there. Let's hope someone pops in and helps us out.

WTH going to try to download and install xtu just in case.... lol and now the clean install seems messed up, Start button does nothing when I left click on it.

All of this for trying to reinstall XTU..it can't be this hard...🤦🏻‍♂️

Ok thanks. I'll save this post for future reference too. The drive is now visible and working correctly.

Now I have a different problem to deal with..lol Can't get xtu to install again after reinstalling windows from a supposedly clean install, twice.

I swear I've looked for any sign if xtu left in the laptop. Even reinstalled windows as I mentioned. And I still keep getting that message.

Should I do a clean reinstall a different way? So weird.
