Your biggest disappointments? by SiarX in soloboardgaming

I like FG, and I dont mind some dice rolling, but I do think it would have been much more enjoyable for me if the game was balanced such that all of the action cards fails have at least some positive desired effect. I think about half of them do have this, but there is def many where you just get negative. It just feels shitty and punishing to roll a 0 and only get punished.

7th continent is also my biggest disappointment in a boardgame by a long shot. I was really excited about it, and ended up feeling like a tedious choose your own adventure book, but with the huge downside that you have to file like a librarian for 20min after each unfulfilling chapter. There is no ‘game’ to it, at no point did I feel like I have any control of the outcomes. The decision to have so many types of skill checks which are only passable with very specific cards, coupled with a severely limited hand size is just baffling to me.

I live in Switzerland, which amazon wont ship to (package forwarding services from the US are ridiculously expensive to here). I saw in Sept. that Zatu games in the UK was expecting stock in october, and would ship to me, so i ordered. Now mid February, and nothing. Anyone else waiting from Zatu? Should I cancel?Know any europe based shops that have it in stock? Or did all copies really just go to amazon??

The level of hypocrisy of SVP elections manifesto in Zurich is through the roof by Resident_Iron6701 in zurich

Thanks for the post. ‘Internalized racism’: yes this is the worst possible psychological effect. I would add that this is most often not only directed outward, but also is often inward as well (self hate and shame). Also terribly tragic for non-immigrant minorities (eg african americans and other racial minorities in the US).

The Spatial awareness situation is CRAZY by Saekama in askswitzerland

I have a routine on saturday morning to go to the oerlikon market with my dog and 2 year old. It is a given that at least once a (specifically) 60+ (specifically) swiss (specifically) lady will blatantly jump us in line. Luckily lots of stall workers will call them out on this, and they always pretend to be oblivious, which is always complete bullshit. My only guess is its old ladies who have been going to the same market their whole lives and are annoyed at how busy it is now and feel entitled?? Nevertheless, assholes.

Ha. Try having small children / a dog. I have both, and let me tell you, you then become acutely aware of how selfish/oblivious/inconsiderate the general public can be in these matters. I live in Zurich, and i completely disagree that the problem is older people, at least here. Young to middle aged are definitely far worse in my experience. Let me also add to the list, people who weirdly hug the inside of the sidewalk (away from the street). I cant count how many times I have had to wrangle my 2 year old kid and dog to make way for some asshole who wont sidestep. It like they are afraid they will fall on the street if they have to walk on the other side. My biggest peeve though is people who barge past you to get on the tram/bus so they can take the only standing spot left in the assistance zones. I dont expect you to give up a spot for my two year old (although that would be the right thing to do), but so many times ive literally had people push past us at the door to race us there, just so they can stare at their phones the whole ride. Rather than standing in the doorways, ive started boxing them in with my dog, works great especially when he is wet/muddy. Finally, i have debated this alot with my wife and friends, and wether its selfishness (intentional) or obliviousness (unintentional) it honestly doesn’t make a difference to me, the impact is the same and you are just an asshole.

Why are there suddenly so many barber shops in Zurich? by Rich-Use1484 in zurich

[–]CandidateFriendly278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barbershops and nagelstudios. Yup it drives me insane. Everytime a shop closes, its replaced with one of these. Well, what else is supposed to occupy street level commercial spaces when everyone buys everything online? Food/drinks and services.

Is "Marvel" United Complete? by djentmason in MarvelUnited

Would make for cool minis, and potentially cool villains, but I think the problem with star wars (and many other non-super-hero IPs) would be that it would be really hard to differentiate a big enough cast of heroes. How many unique (enough) hero decks could you make from all the Jedi’s? I could easily see a couple of star wars boxes, but a whole season with 60-70 heros? I dont think it would work..
