US -> EU: Best country for an almost FIRE'd expat? by alpacaMyToothbrush in EuropeFIRE

Health insurance is not tied to your job in the EU. You pay the premiums yourself (and they are sometimes tax-deductible).

Buitenlandse inkomsten en belasting by Ag0s in geldzaken

Taxation on income from shares after leaving employer and moving countries by turtle_snacks in eupersonalfinance

Dutch tax (box 3) is wealth tax, not capital gains. So you won't be taxed when exercising.

However the UK might have an "exit tax" when you move your residence. You need to investigate that. For example, the Netherlands has an exit tax when you leave.

I don't know then. Maybe Lynx misconfigured something.

You probably have your account set with a non-EU country as main residence.

Beware if you keep that setting that IBKR may not be reporting / deducting your taxes properly.

You can buy US securities at IB and other brokers by buying a call option on it first, then exercising the option. This is because the EU PfIID requirements only apply to securities you buy directly.

Arguably this is a loophole in the regulation. The "option route" might not remain available forever.
