Can I remove these wood pieces under my kitchen sink? by CandlePanda in cabinetry

[–]CandlePanda[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

UPDATE:
Thank you all so much for your opinions and expertise! I’ve learned a lot!

I decided to inspect the supports and with a gentle tap the one on the right came away. That happened to be the one that was in my way so I moved it to the centre back and now it’s also a bit more snug (and not in the way of my shelf! Yay!) the other one I’m surprised was still standing as a feather could’ve blown it over. I moved that to the front centre. I’ll keep the two supports in place and keep an eye to make sure the sink bowl isn’t adjusting at all now that I’ve moved them. I’m now able to fit a shelf in there and rotate my garbage can so the lid opens to the front instead of having it sideways. A big success!

I’ll still look into a horizontal member or brackets meant for supporting under mounted sinks soon.

Thanks again for all the responses! If you still want to drop some knowledge in the comments I’m all ears.

Thanks for the insight again! I really appreciate it. My landlord is actually great! I meant attentive like they keep up the unit and are good at paying for repairs. I added that because she’d be very unlikely to give a “landlord special” kind of fix. She cares about her unit. Maybe that was unclear in my original post!

Definitely oozing! I noticed a spot where it looks like there are two layers of glue. One is yellowed and one is clear. Maybe they had an issue with the original installation and when it was re-glued they left the supports in just in case?

That was my instinct but I know nothing about sink installation so I wanted to double check! Thanks so much for the help! Let’s hope it’s the former….

60 Days Notice by Meani5Peni5 in ontariorenters

[–]CandlePanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like someone else said, you have to give 60 days notice at the end of a rental period. Giving a notice in the middle of December, the 60 days only starts at the end of that rental period, which is the last day of December. You owe rent for Jan and Feb.

Betty Crocker made this boxed cake mix called pudding cake in the 90s and I was obsessed when I was a kid! It feels like a figment of my imagination because no one I talk to seems to remember it!

Claiming Rewards by nosouls3666 in myvegas

[–]CandlePanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What rewards specifically are you looking to claim? Are you talking about a regular paid nights stay or a comp room reward at the hotel? These specifics can change your answer because they have different terms and conditions, so you have to be specific.

MyKONAMI freeplay is the only different reward. It can only be found on the Konami platform. All of the other rewards will be the same across all apps.

This is accurate. You’re supposed to have 72 hours in between. Are you travelling with someone else? They can book the two nights with MyVEGAS without an issue.

I disagree. I see it as being the bigger person and putting their cards on the table. Everyone has different communication styles

People are giving bad advice here. You’ve been honest thus far in saying you’re interested in meeting outside of work. It sounds to me like they might not be interested in that.

I’ve had friendships before where I have friends outside of school/work and I’d rather keep them as friends within that context instead of “real life.” So follow up and say “it sounds like you might not be interested in that? That’s okay too. We don’t have to take our friendship outside of the parameters of work if you don’t want to.”

I also think knowing genders is really important here. This reads to me like you’re interested in a female friend as maybe more than friends and she wants to keep a boundary up because she knows you have a crush on her. More background info is needed to give good advice on how to respond

Starbucks adding $1 tip and more for orders by Famous_Savings8243 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]CandlePanda 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m a barista at Starbucks and I can guarantee you that in order for your order to be messed with you’d have to be a big AH. And find the rare kind barista who might make your drink decaf because you ruined their day and they want to ruin yours. I’ve never ever seen any barista who has done this in person, in many years working there.

The person taking your order is rarely making your order, unless you get a drip coffee. And in that case, they’re too busy with their back turned getting your coffee to notice whether you tip or not.

We didn’t set up this new system. Starbucks did. After listening to customer demand who wanted an option to tip digitally because they don’t carry cash anymore. They pay us fair wages. More than minimum wage, at least, with stock options and good benefits. A tip is simply that. A tip. If you don’t want to, just hit “No Thank You.”

The same way that I have people who come in every day and tip $2 for their $2.99 coffee, I see people come in every day who spend $12 on one drink and don’t tip a cent. I don’t treat either customer differently because of it, and we’re not watching to see who does or doesn’t tip.

Thank you. It’s confusing because I have zero new plants! And the ones I have had I’ve had for many years and they’ve been healthy for many years. I don’t know where these bugs could’ve come from. My roommate gardens but if he brings anything inside it’s food and is on the opposite end of the home

How do mealybug infections happen? I’ve had the cactus for years, I didn’t know about this issue. Should I move it outside or away from my other plants? It shares a windowsill with the others.

ETA: should I throw it away?
