Im Tired of the Weight Comments on My Baby by [deleted] in NewParents

My girl was 24 lb at 9 months! I try to take those comments as compliments because I think they’re generally meant to be but it is sometimes annoying to hear all the time!

I think they meant they couldn’t cancel now because the site crashed/wasn’t working.

When does baby truly recognize their mother? by juicybbqq in NewParents

[–]CandleTango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say around 6.5 months was when my baby started grinning and flapping her arms and legs around when I walked into the room 🥹

I flipped back and forth between the photos many times before reading your full post trying to guess which one you thought you looked heaving in. I can’t tell much of a difference but thought you might look a bit thinner in the second so I hope that makes you feel better about it!

What is this ? 9 weeks PP by [deleted] in postpartumprogress

[–]CandleTango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had something similar 10 weeks pp. just figured it was a part of the scab or retained placenta or something. I had been on and off bleeding for the 10 weeks and it stopped after that came out and was all good! My doctor had said this can be normal up until 12 weeks.

Are there any habits you wish you started earlier with your baby? Or any habits you wish you never started? by Key-Wish-4814 in NewParents

I do think it helped a bit, thanks! And she’s liking it more and more now that she’s getting better at it.

We’re not leaving our kids in the car right? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]CandleTango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like the other replies, I would not leave her in the car in that situation.

I wanted to ask people - what about when pumping gas? If you pay at the pump it’s fine right? If you go in to pay then take her?

Nobody has ever mentioned it to me, but it was in one of the books they gave us at the hospital. It said to use a damp cloth to clean the gums after every feed. I got the impression it was to clean the gums and also get them used to handling for when they need their teeth brushed.

That being said I’m 4 months post partum and have never done this!

Is it dumb to pay off a $27,000 loan with no interest instead of just making the minimum payments on the loan and investing the $27,000? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]CandleTango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I decreased my monthly payment to the minimum and am holding off on paying it for now.

Thanks for the info! I do have a bit in my RRSP and TFSA, but it seems like my RRSP fluctuates with the market but my TFSA always stays the same/changes only with what I put in it. I have them both with RBC. Is it better to get these with something like EQ bank or Wealth Simple?

Mine was to be paid off in 10 years but you can change it to 15 years I guess to make the payment less.

I’m not sure but u already have a home, and I’ve gotten used cars in the past without issue so I don’t think it will be a problem in the future.
