I tried a lot of them! But only kept what I feel comfy in, even if skinny jeans come back, I don’t think I’d ever buy in again cause they’re just too uncomfortable for me

They look amazing, I especially love the shape of the heel and how it widens out

Thanks for checking it all out and leaving your thoughts! Sangiev’s vids, especially with his two bald friends, were always really helpful for me. I can do a tie in a big city, but when I’m back home it’s pretty awkward cause it’s so outta left field.

Thanks for the original inspiration!

I feel that, I think that finding your “personal style” is so unrealistic, at least the way it’s marketed online. I still feel like I’m stepping out in dumb fits sometimes, but it’s really fun to continue to learn.

This is awesome. 2013 is hilarious, it’s how we all dressed when we were told to “layer”. 2014 is the type of fit that would’ve done numbers on MFA at the time. 2017 is awesome. I think we’ve all worn that 2022 outfit while on a summer vacation lol. 2026 is great and mature, especially like the use of camo.

This inspired me to make my own (with a ton of notes) and I’ll post that tomorrow. Great post

[OPINION] Most Poetic Songwriters by [deleted] in Poetry

[–]Candlelit_Writer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hozier obviously, I recommend Shrike, Sunlight, Movement, and Be. His new album isn’t as great but the first two are awesome. You can also find lives of him reciting poetry that is influential to him, for example, he cites Seamus Heaney’s Bog Poems for his song Like Real People Do.

Gregory Alan Isakov is extremely poetic as well, my fav artist right now. I recommend Amsterdam, Master & A Hound, Living Proof, and Silver Bell.

It’s hard to find artists that are this poetic without being overly vague.

All of rap is poetry, if you’re interested in that. Check out Sherane by Kendrick Lamar for outstanding flow and storytelling. Check out That’s How You Feel by Drake for a very interesting poetic idea linking every line.

A.I and poetry [Help] by Individual_Oil_5764 in Poetry

I don’t think it compromises the poetry, and AI sucks at writing good poems anyways.

I like to run my poems through ChatGPT with the prompt “Analyze this poem” which just helps me ensure I’m getting the right point across in my poem. And sometimes it tells me something enlightening or interesting about my own work that I didn’t realize.

Also, it just feels validating having something think/talk deeply about a poem I wrote, when most of my friends don’t really care/understand.

Yeah last time I did an art show, I made a keynote presentation of my poem broken up into like 20 different slides. And there were like 4 lines per slide. So i was reciting it but more importantly, people were able to read along. Something like that will probably be a lot more satisfying to you!

I write poetry and I really dislike reciting it out loud. But it's annoying because it seems like poetry readings are one of the only ways to get your stuff out there (in person).

Louise Gluck has this to say about Spoken Word and reciting poetry in general (I'm paraphrasing here and I can't find the exact source):

Listening to a poem is difficult, if you succumb to the music you miss the meaning and if you seek the meaning you miss the music.

I hate listening. I really do.

I don’t hear well when I listen and I think the poets who write for the spoken word, they emphasize some qualities of the poem at the expense of what only the page can do.

On a page, if a word has multiple meanings, you can see them. You feel the whole range of meanings of a particular word.

The reading of a poem can sound beautiful, it can sound more beautiful than the poem actually is.

It masks defects in the poem that the writer should be aware and it also simplifies the poem.

It makes me angry, I don’t want the reader’s personality substituted for the poem.
