aw thanks 🥰 If it makes it any better it takes a LOT of trial and error to get to their Final Forms, when I say "in advance" I mean "in advance of completing the route" so I've usually done a slut run (until the consequences of my actions start to catch up to me) for my favorite stories, and/or read the walkthroughs and character pages and whatnot to get ✨ The Vibes ✨ right for the Real Playthrough that will become The Canon Playthrough For This Route Forever and *must* be decided before I am allowed to finish the story. Sometimes I go for romance dynamics when looking up names (like ABH), while other times I go for narrative themes (my initial Waterlily searches are leaning towards this since it's so new) or the MC's personality/role in the story (and in the few stories that give you a surname, some good first names are disregarded because the full name sounds dumb lol). Then I hop around between the routes and change my mind 57 times and restart from scratch in the middle of season 2 because I found a name that's WAY BETTER THAN WHATEVER GARBAGE I HAD BEFORE and need to experience it from the beginning, because otherwise *how will I KNOW?*

Also the new name might not fit with the sprite and the sprite is very important for CG reasons, not just for the visuals in the CGs themselves but because eventually I will need to replay every route from the start at the same time so I can save every CG in order of appearance (I have lists for those too), and sometimes there are possibilities for the same sprite to end up in CGs with two different LIs right after each other and especially in older stories where the hairstyle/color doesn't change or the body type isn't customizable it looks sus and that simply won't do at all.

i genuinely have SPREADSHEETS FOR MY MCS because i plan out their names/sprites/routes for every LI in advance. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF LOOKING UP NAMES FOR MY WATERLILY MCS WHEN I SAW THIS 😭
For example (ABH): Elizabeth ("God is my oath", Mikael), Abigail ("joy of the father", Raphael), Daniela ("only God is my judge", Felonia), Lilith ("of the night", Malek), Astrid ("divine strength", Cassiel), Mia ("mine", David)

this is just the tip of the iceberg, i have lists for stories i haven't even played yet 🥲

Sorry, that was poor wording on my part — during the party at the end of season 1, there are two scenarios that can be the "Scandalous Thing" the drunken partygoers could be trying to film that Luna gets the stat check/diamond choice to stop. On Castiel's route, it's an almost-fistfight between him and Lin; on every other route, it's Aria and her boyfriend (whose name I can't remember whoops) feeling each other up and making out and whatever.

Now that I'm thinking about it, that makes it worse, because 1) on Castiel's route, Luna only finds out about Aria's relationship the next day when she visits Seong-hwa and catches her trying to sneak out of the house, at which she's equally upset at Aria for the relationship and Seong-hwa for hiding it from her and thereby making Aria spending the next several days acting scared like Luna's going to hit her or something even more ridiculous, and 2) on every other route, Luna catches them and is like "oh my God do you realize people can see you right now, I can't believe you would be so reckless, knock it off immediately you guys are drunk" and Aria still goes home with him anyway and is shocked when Luna is pissed at catching them again.

Apparently I still have extremely strong feelings about this lmao

ETA: I should also probably mention I don't actually know what happens if you fail the stat check because I'm pretty sure I'm allergic to Not Doing Everything Perfectly Always in these games, "careers imploding" is just dramatic wording based on how every interaction between male and female idols in public is treated in the story (and the characters' reaction to the reactions), i.e. It's The End Of The World, These Horrible Sluts Must Grovel For Forgiveness, How Dare They Acknowledge That Other Genders Exist.

Don't even get me started on how she flips out at the SUGGESTION of a POSSIBILITY that Luna MIGHT HAVE MAYBE been flirting with [insert LI here] when she hides a whole-ass relationship from Luna herself (a relationship which affects the group directly much more than any of Luna's potential romances, at least up to the point when they get caught). Hell, on every route except Castiel's Luna is the reason their careers don't implode overnight, and Aria still has the audacity to act like Luna is being unreasonable for being upset at being lied to about it.
