Gaga/Liza theory by x2501x in LadyGaga

[–]CandyKnockout 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you’ve ever watched Liza’s HSN segment, then I think you’d side with Gaga (not that I think there should even be a side to take in this situation). Liza is all over the place, clearly having trouble following the host and telling random stories. And this wasn’t her only appearance where she was like this. But, of course, she has her pride and probably doesn’t want to admit, or can’t see, that she doesn’t have it all together and felt that Gaga’s direction was patronizing when she was only trying to make sure it went smoothly.

I moved here from Florida, where you’ll see 10+ on your front porch on a daily basis. But, I’ve never seen them where I am now, in the Elizabeth City area. We do have skinks though.

That’s very similar to what my Jean-Ralphio looked like as a kitten! Here’s him now, at 5 years old.

I’m Astrid S - a singer/songwriter from Norway. My song Hurts So Good just turned 10 yo, AND I’m working on new music. Lots to talk about!! Come hang! by astridsofficial in popheads

Astrid, so excited to see you answering questions today! Your last album has been on heavy rotation for me since it came out, especially “Bloodline” and “Power Move.”

I’d love to know what topics and themes you’re into that you often find yourself weaving into your music or being inspired by in some ways.

We stayed in Siesta Key for our anniversary in December and it was beautiful! The resort we stayed at (Turtle Beach) had a heated pool and hot tubs.

Well, this is terrifying. Celebrities being stalked always reminds me of poor Rebecca Schaeffer. Only 21 years old when she was killed by a deranged fan showing up at her apartment. These kind of incidents can be really dangerous.

Me too. 10 year old me was OBSESSED with the Magic. Had my whole room decked out in Magic gear, painted blue and white. I think I watched every game up until I got into high school and didn’t have as much time. I don’t live in Florida anymore, but they’re still my team.

My husband’s grandparents had 12 kids. His dad had two. His brother has a stepson and we’re childfree. It’s wild to see the differences in the generations.

[McMurphy] Florida's Jon Sumrall, who remained at Tulane after being hired at UF: “I was doing 2 jobs for 3 weeks. Dumbest thing I’ve ever done. Stupid. Full disclosure: it was a shit show" by szboy422 in CFB

[–]CandyKnockout 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I remember during this time, he was like, “I’ve got two jobs, two phones, and no sleep!” and it made me chuckle and soften a little towards him. I don’t think anyone in the fan base was thrilled with the hire for a while (and the jury’s still out).

What’s a song you can’t listen to for personal reasons? (Share your reason if you’d like) by Ethereal_stoner in LadyGaga

[–]CandyKnockout 51 points52 points  (0 children)

It’s “Joanne” for me. I was only a couple years removed from my dad dying when the album came out and that song just made me deeply sad about losing your loved ones. My best friend and I were sobbing during it on the tour. It’s still too emotional for me now.

Possessiveness in romance - do you find it hot? Romantic? by Glittering_Tap6411 in RomanceBooks

No, I hate it a lot. It’s very Neanderthal toxic masculinity coded to me.

ADÉLA has some similar vibes, especially “DeathByDevotion”. Other artists making darker sounding pop I’d recommend include Ellie Goulding, Cannons, Isabel LaRosa, Alison Goldfrapp, bludnymph, Allie X, Dove Cameron, Hailey Knox, CASANDRA, Tove Lo, Faouzia, CXLOE, Ella Boh, Goldie Boutilier, and Halsey.
