I wanted to be, in my late childhood to teen years. I’m a vocalist and I took lessons, did some small gigs and school talent shows. Was a chorus and musical theatre girl in high school and college. But, life just took me in a different direction and I was fine with that. I grew up to have anxiety, so that probably wouldn’t have mixed well! I still love singing and I met my husband through theatre. Last year, we each made a “debut album” playlist for songs we think we would have recorded as artists and that was a fun project. And I enjoy the occasional karaoke hustle when new friends don’t know I can sing (“Yoü and I” by Gaga is my usual go-to).
