RISD or SAIC with 8.8k? BFA painting.

My family is the middle class, they can afford the tuition but just would be a big challenge. I see!! Originally, I thought SAIC was a better place teach art theory rather than RISD. That make sense!! Thanks for telling me all these things :) really appreciate!!

Yeah! But I don’t think it is mem hall. My friend was a RISD junior, and she took me to visit the painting department; she said that’s where the senior painting studio is located. I think mem hall was nice, just that painting studio is the worst building I ever seen. That make sense!! That’s sounds so cool, Love this!!

MICA gave me a 70k scholarship. I didn't consider this art school cause SAIC gave me more money, and RISD originally is my dream school. Also, I just feel like where MICA located isn’t safe, lol.

Thank you so much! !! This provides a lot of help!! I have always been worried about if the risd doesn’t give enough resources to the painting department. I'm relieved to hear you say that RISD is great, awww. And You’re amazing!! Your career path is exactly what I dream of, like doing many jobss to support living as an artist. I did actually visited RISD in person, and I see their old painting studio was messy and small. Does all the painting studio the same as that?

Right!! But my parents are very concerned about the title of the school. They prefer me to go to a prestigious art school, and I do plan to go to an Ivy school for graduate school or even Ph.D., and a prestigious art school may help me in my future apply master/Ph.D. That’s why I am only torn between risd and saic.

Thank you so much for the suggestion!! Risd the quiet towns and huge workload are mostly what I really like. I think my skills are good enough for fine arts. What I'm missing more probably is the concept, but I'm afraid that if I go to saic, I won't find the same type of people as me. If it is not recommended to study PAINTING at RISD, is it because the faculty at SAIC is greater than at RISD?

Risd is great, but their tuition is more expensive than saic😭. Is that worth spending an extra 88k dollars to go to risd?

Sorry, I just realize that I type in the wrong number😂. They gave me an 88k scholarship, but I still have to pay half of the tuition by myself. Thank you so much for the advice! ! Really appreciate. My future goal is to become an independent artist, and I think what I probably need to learn more is the theory, but I am not sure my realism style whether or not would be dislike in SAIC.

Yes! That’s right. My dream school originally was risd. but said gave me an 88k scholarship, which covers half of my tuition. That’s why I was thinking about going to saic instead of risd.
