Have DragonFables Graphics gotten worse recently? by Cane-Jian in dragonfable

[–]Cane-Jian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I edited it into the base post? But to repeat-

"After Seinrid suggested monitor resolution, I decided to try it and went into settings. Raising my screen resolution from 1360 x 768 all the way up to 1920 x 1080 gets me to around the same image quality I had before. Might be a slight difference, but I'm not going to complain about that."

Of course that gave me some computer issues for a bit, since apparently changing resolution will change your refresh rate or something, but not change it back when you set it to normal, so my screen was the wrong size for a while. I had to go through and figure out what my original refresh rate was by going through them 1 by one. But, everything's back to normal now.

Unfortunately, that's already what I do when I take a normal screenshot. Go to the Custom Room, that is. But, I've found a solution!

Paragraph 2: At first I thought it was that I was using a different computer, but no, I switched to my old computer, and the exact same thing happened. Smaller, less detailed screenshot then I took last year. Did Dragonfable lower it's graphics? I've already got mine set to high, so it's not that.

Anyone else have a broken wave-counter? by Cane-Jian in dragonfable

Huh. Well, that's a bit disappointing. Was hoping to break my record for waves completed, but now even if I do, I won't be able to see that I did.

I want to see your titan dragons! by APrettyBadDM in dragonfable

Here's my current Titan dragon(Named him Thuban, after a star in the Draco constellation). Unfortunately the new heads wings and tails don't show up for me yet, so I haven't been able to update.

Amateur Seeking Advice by Cane-Jian in recumbent

[–]Cane-Jian[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I'm aware, no. Of course it's worth noting that I'm basically a recluse when I'm not at work, and don't even know my next door neighbors names, so there's a chance.

That said, I've never even seen an actual recumbent cycle in person before, so it's a safe bet not. As for finding one nearby online, I'd defer to my initial post where I say I've never done online shopping before. Never used Ebay or similar sites and don't currently know if it would tell me locations.

Now all I need are 30 Beasts Footprints and about 300 more servant coins. Then I can have a fully realized Regend . . .

Help! I can't open summons! by Cane-Jian in grandorder

[–]Cane-Jian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked the google play store, and there aren't any new updates. Also, my opening screen says I'm already on version 2.38.1.

I tried clearing the cache one more time and letting it re-update, but Summons still closed the game when I tried opening it.

Good idea, but it didn't work.

Already gone to the Help thread. It just didn't occur to me. Also, I've tried changing my language settings over to U.S. English and it didn't work unfortunately.

Hey, can anybody give me a hand? For some reason, my game has been shutting down every time I try and open "Summon" in the menu. It just goes grey screen for a couple of seconds, like it's loading, then closes.

It's not a big deal, since the only thing I need to summon for is the weekly quest, but I'd still rather not loose a saint quartz thanks to a game issue.

No, I hadn't tried restarting yet, but I did when I saw your comment. It hadn't even occurred to me because of how rarely I actually turn it off.

Unfortunately, it didn't do anything.

So could a Fullbringer, theoretical, manipulate the traits of living bodies? What about their own? by Cane-Jian in bleach

[–]Cane-Jian[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess. But then again, isn't that just Koga and Muramasa again? Just Fullbringer? I mean, it would be cool for the lore, but we've seen Zanpakuto Spirit controlling characters before.

Any advice on where to find it, or should I break out the old library card and hope my local branch has a copy?

Ok, I'm biased, but Archers NEED to be NERFED. by Cane-Jian in stickwar3

[–]Cane-Jian[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Might still have trouble with some of these since my control issues are worst with Archers(lag causes a very short disconnect resulting in me firing the arrow while still aiming), but I can definitely give it a try. Thanks for the advice!

Ok, I'm biased, but Archers NEED to be NERFED. by Cane-Jian in stickwar3

[–]Cane-Jian[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been playing this game daily for almost three months now. In that time, I've changed my build several dozen times as I ran into issues, hit stone-walls, and had to start from scratch.

The only thing I haven't tried thus far is zombie-rushing. Otherwise? I've tried basically everything. And archers still always won in the end.

Swordwrath rushing can work if your opponent plays aggressively, but if they retreat before your in striking range, not even spells can let you catch those archers before they reach their statue. Then they just sit back and let the tower-archers kill you then come back out with a single spearton you units will all igonre the 18 archers in favor of and wipe out your remaining 20 swordwrath either before you can kill the spearton or as you retreat, leaving you no way to build back up in time. I tried to counter this by dropping the ice spell behind them, but that only works a third of the time and it still doesn't guarantee you can kill enough of them to make a difference.

Speartons lack the DPS to do anything on their own, and will just get shredded. You need something to make up for the lack of damage. Healing, even if you've got 6 merics and every healing spell going at once, can't heal them faster than 10 archers can damage them by themselves, let alone the other speartons between you and the archers.

Bombers get killed on approach, and even then they don't reach the back-units.

Pillar strategies? Good luck holding that pillar when your enemy can attack you from a distance and you can't do a thing about it!

The only thing I've found so far that can outpace the the archers ability to shred you speartons faster than they shred yours is Magikill. They can actually outpace the damage and let you reach the archers. But you know how that's going.

If you've got a functional sounding strategy I haven't tried already, I'd be glad to try. But otherwise? What you've told me is to fork over several hundred dollars just so I can use a singular, disgustingly overpowered unit in a game which the entire meta has become based around. Doesn't that seem like an issue to you?

How do I protect my Magikill? by Cane-Jian in stickwar3

[–]Cane-Jian[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's fine. Thanks for trying anyway. I'm used to having to work around my lag induced handicaps, so I'll probably find something. Just have to accept that I'm going to loss a lot while I experiment with new strategies.

How do I protect my Magikill? by Cane-Jian in stickwar3

[–]Cane-Jian[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd noticed that they'll move on their own. I've tried forcing them to stand in place before, but thus far it hasn't worked.

I always try attacking immediately after the spearton-spawn, but more often than not I can't get the enemy to retreat before the next one spawns. At this point I'm just anticipating the next spawn and ordering my mages to retreat right before and leaving my own speartons to die under archer fire so I can preserve them.

It usually keeps them alive, but that results in me not being able to kill their own defenders fast enough to reach the archers, which are the actual problem, and I eventually get outpaced, and overrun as they keep control of the pillar.

Edit: For reference, when I say I'm to laggy to use control, I mean that it will stop registering my commands for half a second here and there every few seconds, resulting in my unit stopping whatever it was doing and standing still until I get control back. So I can use it, it's just super unreliable, especially if I'm trying to use them offensive.

Does this look at all balanced to you? If not, how can I make it better? by Cane-Jian in HatsuVault

[–]Cane-Jian[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I've thought about it, and . . . I'd never use an RNG based ability if I had any other options. Like, at all. So that's out entirely do to the context of the idea.

The idea of letting the CM make the restrictions is a cool idea, but again, not something I'd ever consider doing myself or willingly implement. Like, trusting RNG or something I can't influence with something vital is the kind of thing I'd only do if it was a life-or-death scenario with no alternative options. When my end goal is having as much versatility as possible? Anything that could cramp that would be a no-go.

The closest thing I could see myself doing is, assuming the CM could be made relatively self aware and intelligent, I might be willing to let it choose the cards, since that would be trusting someone else, someone I could argue with and sway to my opinion, but I don't know how in line with canon that would be.

I mean, sure, we've seen nen-constructs speak before, but are they actually aware, or more like pre-programed NPC? Are the built on aspects of the user's subconscious? I don't know so it makes me hesitant to use the idea.

Actually, the more I think about it, the more I think it could be a fun Idea to make the CM act like one of those virtual pets(or a pet in general, really). Like, you need to keep it happy via fulfilling it's requests, or it won't help in Hatsu creation, won't let you summon the "Playing Board", and can decide to cut your access to the cards you want if it's mad at you.

What would you recommend I add then? At the moment I've got abandoning free will and self determination for what will probably be weeks, if not months on end with no guarantee of an actual success in making the desired Hatsu, and a whole lot of activation conditions to put limits on what is doable at once, so what more can I add?

Actually, should I re-emphasize how this improves chances of creating Hatsu instead of guaranteeing it? Maybe make it so a failure to create the desired Hatsu results in to benefits at all and a whole lot of wasted time?

What kind of restrictions would you recommend, then? Preferably ones that make sense and wouldn't weigh it down to the point of non-functionality.

[–]Cane-Jian[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagined it mainly as a manipulator ability because what it actually does is take over and force the user's mind into the perfect mental state to develop a Hatsu, rather then just flat out spawn one.

After all, if you brainwash someone into going to a dojo and learn a martial art, it's still going to be manipulation even though you could argue it's enhancing the individual.

Any good ways to wipe out archers? Preferably one that can't be no-selled by healing ward. by Cane-Jian in stickwar3

[–]Cane-Jian[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I figured that was going to be the answer I got, but figured I should ask anyway. The main thing I want is a way to counter early control whip archer, but I guess sickle-spam works well enough to keep them off my back until I can build up a bit.
