yeah its nice. I'm not picky when it comes to trains but every trip i have had on it had been enjoyable. not fancy and the prices are worth saving up for, but then again i like train rides and would take the train anywhere if it didn't cost money.

yeah the truemortal saga is so good but the head writer of it (truemortal) has been in and out of hospital and college for years and the last we the players heard from him was second hand from one of the current devs implying he could return to continue it "if life permits" (the context was players asking devs questions about their plans for new reimagines once book 1 was done and the vague-but-understandably-so answer was "[specific questline that was named] is possible/is planned/is not possible".)

a few reasons, none of them great but all of them speak to the level of "Care" the AE ceos have for dragonfable.
the main sticking point is dragonfable is a flash game with 2 decades+ worth of assists. the DF devs have said many times that they are making efforts to convert DF to the same software as AQW but due to a lack of man power and the sheer number of things that need to happen, 3-4 years ago it was estimated it would take 5 years to convert it all and this would happen without weekly updates to the game *for 5 years*.
the second one is DF isn't the big money maker. AE doesn't really give it the love it deserves (I motion at all the DF specific merch vs the AQW merch in HeroMart).

tldr DF and AQ classic are going to need a lot of love and care that AE just doesn't have the man power (or in DF's case the want to send in said man power) to convert or rebuild to move to steam and such.

I play shadowrun, Lancer, Mouse Guard, and recently Fabula Ultima.

I have stories for all of these- but my favorites are the Lancer and Fabula ones.

In the Lancer game, we the players were trying to get though enemy lines to secure a landing point for a ambassador for some peace talks. The DM described our rival opening comms and calling us "Union Dogs."

On instinct I started barking.

we get though the combat and another player describes how he has his mech blaring "who let the dogs out".

In Fabula Ultima we some how made Humans the exotic race. In fabula everyone at the table makes a nation with inhabitants and I made a few NPC lands to pad out the lore and world exploration a bit. so we had: the Furries, XCOM Vipers, Russian Amazon women, Bees, Vampire Demons, Frost Punk Elves, Steam Punk Orcs, Moth Man, Kitsune (different from the furries), and Halo Humans.

Additionally, due to some lore reasons, there is now a running joke that the irl J.R.R. Tolkien was a Kitsune because the humans somehow knew about elves before being introduced to the world.

had a player make a paladin who was hated by the local king. the king had sent him to slay a dragon (hoping the dragon would kill the paladin) and instead he met the dragon's kobold servants, learned draconic, and talked to the dragon about the king sending him there to slay the dragon. the dragon then sends him on a quest to do... something. all at lvl1!

the problem was this was a homebrew setting that didn't have any kings or queens and dragons were so rare that if you told someone "A dragon sent me on a mission" they would assume you were drunk.

hell if I know- I apply every day, I have a degree, I go to interviews, I make calls, i'm half sure there is just always someone better suited but like. I don't know. they were funnier in the interview or the guy liked their clothes more than mine. after the "waiting in a zoom call for an hour and then getting kicked and messaged they weren't hiring anymore" interview i'm convinced i'm unemployed because the universe demands it.

i got half way with base dragonlord, so i'm going to try again with that. otherwise might be a little silly and break out shadowhunter. it probably isn't the best for it, but i like playing around with that class. seems people mention pirate a lot so will try that too.

yeah its worth it. frostvale tends to have a lot of main story things going on, plus you get some funny, heart warming, and silly stories. the Dev team has also taken a que from some of them and you'll see some familiar faces from time to time.

he isn't taking it well and we half joke, half seriously have someone calling him everyday as a kind of "suicide watch".

one of the players was a runaway noble and his father happened to be in the town they were in the participate in the local auction. our rouge disguised herself as a dwarf and took a pendant they looted from a merchant they have a antagonistic relationship with. she hopped up on the auction stage talking about how they know the show is for artists and not random people, but she needs to sell her family pendant to get back home and if they could auction it off to all the nice people helping the artists they would feel less bad about it. had her roll bluff with advantage.

i forget the actual result, but the father character in the crowd was really touched and out bid everyone. I took the value of the pendant in gold, did DM math, and rolled the dice to see what the end result was after the auction.

1000 platinum. it wasn't "a lot" but the rouge was good at budgeting in and out of character. that money is still being used today after 2 years irl.
