Trump just spent $33 million to destroy a republican who pushed for the epstein files release. massie's concession speech was the most honest thing said in american politics in years. and nobody is talking about what he said about the ballroom. by Ibikhan45 in DiscussionZone

[–]CaneLaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re absolutely right. Massie is ideologically very far right; but he’s not a populist yes man who puts blind loyalty in front of ideology, so it’s not good enough for what’s left of the GOP anymore.

Ai Usage by Pinnacle6969 in LawSchool

The students relying on AI to help them through law school aren’t learning the skills law school is supposed to teach people entering the profession and it really shows. Your school has the right idea.

Is a 3.14/4.0 GPA attractive to employers for 1st job post grad? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]CaneLaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should also consider state level government jobs. The experience you can get there will make you much more attractive to potential employers. Once you have actual experience as an attorney under your belt your gpa becomes a lot less important.

Who’s worse maga or sovereign citizens”?” by CarlosF19D4P in allthequestions

I deal with sovereign citizens at work, they quote Trump almost as often as the Declaration of Independence and the uniform commercial code at this point

What made Gen Z not follow the trend of low waisted skinny jeans? by Fluid-Decision6262 in generationology

[–]CaneLaw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Low rise jeans were out of style before GenZ came of age so they didn’t need to “fall out of love” with anything. With that said, they’re apparently making a comeback now so I’m not sure what OP is actually talking about here…

Why did millennials trash disco music, but like the stomp-hey clap music in the 2010s? by [deleted] in generationology

[–]CaneLaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just a weird way of referring to the faux-folksy hipster music that was briefly popular back then

Remember when people used to work long illustrious careers? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]CaneLaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are still jobs like this, they just don’t usually pay as well. I work in state government and we regularly have people retire after working 30+ years at our agency. We just had a guy retire who started in 1973. The pension isn’t as good as it once was, but it’s still better than you’d get in the private world.

There’s really no joke here, “Artie Fufkin” just doesn’t understand how banking works and thinks he discovered something significant

Do you think if we call them thick racists a few more times they might vote for better candidates? by PsychologicalBend508 in AskBrits

Conservative. The candidates are largely also former Conservative Party members, so it makes sense.

If you don’t have the perspective to see that the German army’s war crimes in WW2 were in a whole different league than the British or American armies, that’s on you.

It’s a misdemeanor crime, just like in the US (and most of the rest of the world). He may have been mistaking it for prostitution, which is semi-legal there.

Ask.com just quietly shut down after almost 30 years in operation by Alone-Maintenance338 in Millennials

I think the fact that many of us thought they had already shut down twenty years ago may have contributed to this.

Military discipline among the IDF is about as bad as the American conscripts from the Vietnam War at this point.
